Sen. Ron Johnson:
"Getting coronavirus is not a death sentence except for maybe no more than 3.4 percent of our population...probably far less."
"We don’t shut down our economy because tens of thousands of people die on the highways"

10 or 11 million Americans dead. What the heck. No reason to cause damage to the economy just for that. Pansies.

Sen. Bernie Sanders grew angry when asked about his campaign plans. During a gaggle with reporters in the Capitol, I asked Sanders about his timeframe for making a decision, and he lashed out: "I'm dealing with a ******* global crisis. You know, we're dealing with."

WTF? This does not make sense. Sanders has no role in the crisis and the shaping of remedies.

Manu Raju of CNN asked Bernie what the timeframe was, for him to make a decision on staying in or leaving the race. This was his answer:

"I'm dealing with a ******* global crisis."
"Right now I'm trying to do my best to make sure that we don't have an economic meltdown and that people don't die. Is that enough for you to keep me busy for today?"

Well excuse us all to pieces. Saint Bernie is just too busy saving the planet to even talk about his divisive, egotistical hanging on to a dead campaign.

I bet they said why they voted against it. Anything on that? Here is something.

@snood,
I cut the guy some slack, I'm sure I'll have zero patience at his age and not even off of years of campaigning and a heart attack.

His answer was okay except preceding it he should have been saying, 'I suspended my campaign to deal with this ******* crisis'.

I am happy to report that for the FIRST time in over 4 months of me being on Bernie’s campaign email list....not one email asking for donations in the last 38 hours.

There has never been a span lasting longer than 23 hours in the last 4 months. And they were often coming 2x per day.

I’m hoping the life saving announcement will come sooner than later.

An actual leader, one who believes in sacrifice rather than selfishness, would start by offering his own hotels to be converted into medical wards. #COVID19

Damn good point. Would love to see this put to Trump by reporters.

@layman,
Some cheese-eating hamster deleted this follow-up post:

Quote:
The 2009 swine flu outbreak originated in Veracruz, Mexico. Health workers traced the virus to a pig farm in this southeastern Mexican state. A young boy who lived nearby was among the first people to contract the swine flu. He lived, but others in the area came down with the flu and died.

I guess some whining cheese-eater complained about my previous comments, so I left them out, for now.

All I did was ask a simple question, to wit:

"Who knows what disease they'll bring in next?"

Can anyone answer that?

The US Flu, as it might be known.

Uhhh, best amend that to say the "Mexican Flu," eh?

Orwell was definitely on to something here, and it's far from limited to pacifism, eh?

George Orwell wrote:
The majority of pacifists either belong to obscure religious sects or are simply humanitarians who object to taking life and prefer not to follow their thoughts beyond that point.....

But there is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real though unacknowledged motive appears to be hatred of western democracy and admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda usually boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other...

"But if one looks closely at the writing of the younger intellectual pacifists, one finds that they do not by any means express impartial disapproval but are directed almost entirely against Britain and the United States.

Trump also repeatedly called the pathogen, which causes a disease officially called COVID-19, the "Chinese virus," in remarks at a White House coronavirus briefing Tuesday afternoon before doubling down Wednesday afternoon when asked about his terminology by a reporter, who commented, "a lot of people say it's racist."

"Because it's from China. It's not racist at all, no. Not at all. It comes from China," Trump said. "That's why. It comes from China. I want to be accurate."

The fool! You can't be accurate and not be a racist.

Come to think of it, you can't be anything and not be a racist, according to the cheese-eaters. The self-defeating, cannibalistic left now turns on itself, with everyone accusing the other of being "racist." See the dem debates.

Considering that you put people on ignore because you lack the ability to argue against them, that would indeed be bad.

You'd likely go on a lot more of those name-calling rants that you spout whenever you are bested on a factual matter.
