The 2009 swine flu outbreak originated in Veracruz, Mexico. Health workers traced the virus to a pig farm in this southeastern Mexican state. A young boy who lived nearby was among the first people to contract the swine flu. He lived, but others in the area came down with the flu and died.

I guess some whining cheese-eater complained about my previous comments, so I left them out, for now.

Swine flu originated in the US.

The majority of pacifists either belong to obscure religious sects or are simply humanitarians who object to taking life and prefer not to follow their thoughts beyond that point.....

But there is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real though unacknowledged motive appears to be hatred of western democracy and admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda usually boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other...

Trump also repeatedly called the pathogen, which causes a disease officially called COVID-19, the "Chinese virus," in remarks at a White House coronavirus briefing Tuesday afternoon before doubling down Wednesday afternoon when asked about his terminology by a reporter, who commented, "a lot of people say it's racist."

"Because it's from China. It's not racist at all, no. Not at all. It comes from China," Trump said. "That's why. It comes from China. I want to be accurate."

I'm rather better equipped, by personality and habit, for spending my days locked away at home. But I'm watching myself for unusual and even self-destructive behaviors. I think the most accurate indicator that might arise to warn me that I'm teetering on some edge will be if I begin reading the people I have on ignore. That would be bad.
