@snood,
Don't worry — those relief checks will be in the mail soon!

But, seriously:

@hightor,
But how will we pay for all this socialism the Trump administration is handing out, 1.5 trillion to Wall Street, sending money directly to the people, payroll tax cuts? Do you think cutting out pandemic departments, cutting welfare, social security and other safety nets will do it? Do you think causing a trade war then having to give billions to the farmers will do it?

@Brand X,
Oh, you mean corporate welfare, huh? That's always been popular with conservatives/Republican, at least since the days of Ronnie Ray-gun. Screw the people! Long live Wall Street!

@Brand X,
We are experiencing the confluence of so many different historical streams; there's a debt crisis, a refugee crisis, a looming labor crisis due to automation, a population crisis, an infrastructure crisis, a climate crisis, and a pandemic. All of which could have been avoided. But fortunately we're in good hands, nothing that a good dose of ultra-nationalism can't cure. More tariffs! More guns! More coal! America First!

@snood,
Bob, tell em what they’ve won!

Why, another four years of Donald Trump, Stan!!

Bernie Sanders is far superior to Biden in every way, and you and the idiots that backed the old racist —and the DNC who once again cheated the most honest, foward-thinking person in the political realm are disgusting.

Thanks for Trump —both times.

Your stupidity has destroyed what we had left of a country. We don’t have another four years of inaction on income inequality, medical care insecurity, or climate change.

You’re stupid and blind to the end.

I disagree. Bernie wouldn’t stay in because of personal ego, but because of best service to the people he’s working for.

Yeah, I heard there were DNC operatives in every polling station (the few ones that they hadn't shut down) forcing people to vote for Butte...I mean Sanders.

Thanks for Trump

Sanders supporters sure helped sandbag Clinton's run...just think what they can do to Biden's...good work!

I'm rather better equipped, by personality and habit, for spending my days locked away at home. But I'm watching myself for unusual and even self-destructive behaviors. I think the most accurate indicator that might arise to warn me that I'm teetering on some edge will be if I begin reading the people I have on ignore. That would be bad.

“The IOC remains fully committed to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and with more than four months to go before the Games, there is no need for any drastic decisions at this stage; and any speculation at this moment would be counterproductive,” the International Olympic Committee said in a March 17 press release.

It has got to be an incredible drag for athletes who have been training for so many years to get to this ultimate stage of competition. But I doubt such sympathies are what really motivates the IOC here. It's money. And they are going to have to shut down anyway.

Why wait?

It traditional to wait until the candidate has been nominated. But, admittedly, these circumstances are hardly characteristic of a "traditional" campaign season. The right candidate could fire up parts of the base, I suppose, but having two targets also means twice the slime hurled at them from the GOP and Sanders Brotherhood. I don't know how much of a difference it makes anymore.

@hightor,
In normal circumstances, I would say he should wait until formally nominated. It avoids accusations of arrogance or being presumptuous.
In the present circumstances and all things considered, I think an announcement could give Biden voters a timely and much needed boost.

@snood,
Biden and Co. can always make the case that they are going to be taking over an economy much like 2008 or worse, so 'we started building our team now to work on solutions'. Or something to that effect. Probably going to be Kamala.
