In an unexpected whiplash, Trump backtracked on his previous attacks on the media with regards to coverage on the coronavirus. All of a sudden, “a lot of the media actually has been very fair” and isn’t out to get him anymore.

“I think people are pulling together on this,” the President told reporters. “I really think the media’s been very fair.”

Nearly 7 million people have been ordered to “shelter in place” around the Bay Area of northern California.

Six Bay Area counties announced its “shelter in place” order Monday for all residents, directing them to practice social distancing by staying home for the next three weeks in an effort for public health officials to combat the spread of the coronavirus.The order, which goes into effect 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, affects more than 6.7 million in San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties. It is effective until at least April 7 and is the most restrictive yet in the country.

I've been watching a live hoax Covid tracker since Saturday as testing finally began ramping up. Saturday night there were 2970 cases and 68 deaths, right now there are 4534 cases and 85 deaths, 74 recovered in the US.

For weeks, some of Fox News’s most popular hosts downplayed the threat of the coronavirus, characterizing it as a conspiracy by media organizations and Democrats to undermine President Trump.

Fox News personalities such as Sean Hannity and Laura In­graham accused the news media of whipping up “mass hysteria” and being “panic pushers.” Fox Business host Trish Regan called the alleged media-Democratic alliance “yet another attempt to impeach the president.”

With Trump’s declaration on Friday that the virus constitutes a national emergency, the tone on Fox News has quickly shifted.

On his program on Friday, Hannity — the most watched figure on cable news — lauded the president’s handling of what the host is now, belatedly, referring to as a “crisis.”

“Tonight, we are witnessing what will be a massive paradigm shift in the future of disease control and prevention,” he said. “A bold, new precedent is being set, the world will once again benefit greatly from America’s leadership. . . . The federal government, state governments, private businesses, top hospitals all coming together, under the president’s leadership, to stem the tide of the coronavirus.”...

Why isn't there an hour by hour or day by day tracking of every new death from the flu which is reported in every news headline?

“We need to keep people apart,” said researcher Jeffrey Shaman of Columbia University Mailman School, who co-authored the study with colleague Sen Pei.

“The majority of these infections are mild, with few symptoms at all,” but if transmitted they can kill the elderly or medically vulnerable, said Shaman. “People may not recognize it. Or they think they have a cold.”

If applied to the U.S. population, this means that we have far more than the 1,629 infections currently reported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The real number would be closer to 13,000.
