@georgeob1,
Quote:Is this supposed to represent some confirmation of the "movement conservatism" obsession
You have been claiming that the term/concept has no reality or meaning outside of my imagination. You've said explicitly that I'm pushing a "conspiracy theory". As I've pointed out to you many many times, the term is self applied by a certain sort of Republican and has been for years. That you weren't aware of this just tells us that you are very poorly informed regarding your own party and conservatism as it has evolved. Just last week, I pointed you to the Netlix documentary "Get Me Roger Stone" where Paul Manafort speaks of the 'new conservative movement" which began in the Goldwater era.
All of these people who use the term obviously believe it means something. They believe it is something which requires a term to differentiate it from forms of American conservatism that predates or is different from it otherwise there would be no need for the term at all. It is not merely advocacy. Read any of the historian Rick Perlstein's books. He's an excellent scholar, his work is deeply researched and he's a very good writer. American conservatism from Goldwater up is his subject area. Some other links for you:

That you weren't familiar with Ginni Thomas doesn't surprise me. She's someone you should know about along with a much larger community of connected activists, what they think, what they work towards.
