Progressive economist Paul Krugman is using the pathetic Joy Reid excuse: Hackers filled my computer with child pornography!

Very Happy

@Finn dAbuzz,
It is possible that he is right. The KGB (whatever acronym they call themselves now, I can never remember it) has a history of hacking computers and framing prominent people in regimes that Putin opposes for child pornography.

The FBI might be able to sort it out if this is the case here.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Historically, Jews have settled and lived in Europe since the highest antiquity, but a significant influx came when Charlemagne invited them to what would become Ashkenaz: Germany and Northern France. Of course European kings also frequently expelled Jews from their land, so you are right that the welcome was limited.

@coldjoint,
Of course not. Islam, just like Christianity, has a big antisemitism problem.

Yes, in spite of what some self-serving history books tend to tell them kids.

@hightor,
That's not blaming the Jews, that's admitting that Jesus was known as King of the Jews. Christianity wouldn't exist without the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it's all in the name, or his name in this case. The Romans put him on the cross, but they did it with approval from the Rabbi Leadership, Jesus was preaching blasphemy in their opinion and handing him over to the Romans, this kept the leadership's "hands clean". All Christians should be thanking the Jews, not be angry at them for killing their God. I'm not a Christian and not a religious person in any way shape or form, I'm just repeating the basic history of the the religion and the man who inspired/founded it.

Whatever the historical circumstances might have been, Christian tradition clearly and increasingly placed blame for the death of Jesus on the Jews - Matt 27:25, John’s Gospel portrays Jews as wanting to kill Jesus throughout his ministry ... ... ....

I don't see a difference in what you said and what I said. The Jewish leadership wanted him dead, they let the Romans do it so they wouldn't be blamed for it at the time. Later Christians did indeed blame the Jews, because that's what Biblical history says is the case. What we know about actual history says the Romans were indeed running that part of the world at the time, so whether the actual events ever happened, the story is based on the historical timeline.

My own personal opinion and things I've seen from more modern day Christians, evangelicals specifically, they aren't angry at the Jews any longer and are one of their strongest allies here in the US. I can tell you for a fact that the Dems are not friends of Israel and their existence. It's the US right who support the home of the Jews. Ever heard of the Black Hebrew Israelites? Who do you think shot up that deli in New Jersy and attacked the Rabbi's house in December?

@Baldimo,
Of course evangelicals now like Jews. They have to establish a country before Christ can return and save their worthless asses.

Considering that the Bible was written by Christians, this isn't a surprise. It would have been near to impossible to lure in new members if they admitted that they (Christians) were responsible.
