Which is why she won the popular vote by a huge number.
She received 65,853,514 votes.
Compared to 2012 when Obama received 65,915,795 votes.
So yes, she was hated so much that she received 99.91% as many votes as Obama did (who IIRC was much more popular).
Now, Obama did receive 69,498,516 votes in 2008...and I would think the excitement for voting for the first female president would be about the same as the first black president. No doubt that Obama was much more exciting in 2008 than Clinton was in 2016. Maybe misogyny is deeper than I thought.
Voters should have still taken their responsibility seriously and showed up to prevent what happened. I blame the apathetic American voters as much as I blame Clinton.
There is also the 8 year cyclic nature of our politics right now. It's been pretty rare for the same party to have control for more than 2 terms in my lifetime.
