Everybody that posts to this thread has had ample opportunity to express their view of 2016. None on either side is going to change one whit, as I see it. I've certainly said all I have to say about it. From this point on, my focus will be now, up to and beyond, 2020. I can't control what others post, but I have the final say over what I post, and 2016 is amply covered here.

I'm not an enemy of Hillary, but I'd like to see those emails. I want to check for myself where she's "cheating."

We started posting about the cheating while it was happening, in 2016 and never really quit. I am done posting how it took place.

Sen. Bernie Sanders says 'we will end' Big Pharma 'greed' as lawmakers push bills aimed at slashing prescription drug prices
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic House leaders on Thursday will introduce three new bills aimed at slashing high prescription drug costs in the U.S.
The bills would permit Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to negotiate lower prices for drugs under Medicare Part D.
Democrats, who regained control of the House this month, listed lowering prescription drug costs as one of their top priorities.

So what's the plan for funding research and development into new medicines?

Shall we close down all research and only use medicines that have already been developed?

How many people will die because the cure that could have saved them was never developed?

@oralloy,
It's not a matter of closing down R&D. It's about he pharma companies gouging consumers in this country. The same meds can be had cheaper in Canada.

@cicerone imposter,
Eliminating the funding that pays for R&D is very much a matter of closing it down.

Personally I don't think the solution to "foreign freeloaders refusing to pay their fair share of R&D costs" is to end R&D altogether.

@oralloy,
I think we could start with the funding that pays for doctor "incentives" and commercial advertising.

9 out of 10 big pharma companies spend more on advertising than they do R&D.

Why do they need to advertise to you and I. Am I supposed to know if some pill I see advertised during the Sean Hannity show is going to be good for me? Is that my job to do?
