George Bernard Shaw Was So Enamored With Socialism He Advocated Genocide To Advance It

That’s not to say he was willfully ignorant of Stalin’s atrocities. Rather, he defended them. Blindly accepting Communist propaganda, Shaw argued that the dictator was forced to organize mass executions to keep the country safe from “exploiters and speculators.” Mass murders were also necessary to maintain a competent workforce. As Shaw wrote in 1933, the “unfortunate Commissar” must shoot his own workers “so that he might the more impressively ask the rest of the staff whether they yet grasped the fact that orders are meant to be executed.”

But killing the disobedient and inefficient was only the first step in building a better society. Shaw also advocated for a far-reaching eugenics program. “f we desire a certain type of civilization and culture,” he wrote, “we must exterminate the sort of people who do not fit into it.” This included a whole range of “defectives.”

It is easy to promise the Moon when you are ignorant. However, ignorance also kills. I would compare her to Lenin or Marx, the architects of the Socialist movement that killed more than 200 million people in the last century. By the way, the Nazis were also socialist (Nationalist Socialist Party); add in Hitler’s kill totals and you get the picture.

The Marxist Bolsheviks also promised everything, and wanted to burn down imperial Russia in the process. They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams in the latter. The former, not so much.

When asked about her Socialist views and the results in Venezuela or Cuba, Miss Ocasio-Cortez answered, “Of course not. What we have in mind and what my policies most closely re-resemble are what we see in the UK, in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.”

What Miss Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t know, or want to know, is that the last several decades have seen Sweden enact pro-market reforms and a reduction in the liberal welfare state. The same is happening in other Nordic countries. I won’t even go into the horrible results and death panels of the health care system in the United Kingdom.
