Edgar Allen Poe was a conservative. So was Jack London, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Horatio Alger, Frank L. Baum, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Washington Irving, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Herman Melville, and H.G. Wells to name a few.
