Then in that case, Oklahoma will be the most beautiful place in the world to you, Lady J. Hurry home! If you're going to be anywhere close to Tulsa, let me know and I'll take you to lunch.

Oh Lady J, it sounds like we have much in common. If you visit Letty's thread, WA2K Radio here: http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1250653#1250653 ,
you will find a song that I identify with whole heartedly.

I do love the conversation among this group!

So, now that we have paid proper homage to the Emperor, I do have one little question for Francis. Do the French people find it a strange twist of history (I confess, I do) that their ancestors most violently rejected the concept of royalty during the Revolution, only to accept an emperor just a few years later? I am currently covering this subject with my son in his homework, and I haven't found an adequate explanation for these apparently contradictory events. I'm sure there is more to it.

I don't think, it was just and only rejection of royalty.

Not going deeper in this subject (Francis will certainly be the better source for such), generally revolutions don't get their aim from one day to the other - France got the Fifth Republic by now

Lady J, come in the warmth of this place.

I'll offer you a glass of Bordeaux 1961, which is a very good year for reds.

Not many of those are left :

Hello, Francis! May I have a glass as well? Hope I didn't offend you with my question. I'm researching that period of French history today. Seems there's more to it than they're telling 5th graders these days. Wink

Heavenly!! Thank you so kindly. And Eva, you better join us for a glass. This is supposed to be very, very good wine. One of the best vintages since....1949 was it Francis?

Since there are very few bottles left, I won't bogart the whole thing....
although it does seem tempting!!
