I've never heard a single interesting thought nor a really funny joke from a lady.

I have heard a large number of interesting thoughts from ladies in all sorts of conditions.

A lady told me this joke.

A lady went into a travel agent's shop and asked the price of a holiday in Majorca pronouncing the J. The snooty bloke behind the counter said it was pronounced Mayorca. So she said how much is a holiday in Mayorca. He asked her when she planned to go. She said Yune or Yuly.

I thought that pretty amusing.

@spendius,
An English lady writer, of the "flapper" genre, whose name I forget, was invited to read a passage from the Bible at a posh Cof E wedding.

The vicar approached the pulpit in a rush when she got started on a famous passage in the Song of Solomon and snatched the book away.

@spendius,
Hah! In Germany, the politicians all sleep at the parliament and look what the English do! Feisty lady! I wonder how she broke her arm.... Laughing

Your other jokes are very very mediocre, spendius.

@CalamityJane,
It's not that at all Cal. It is that you have a different sense of humour to me.

Attempting domestic discipline with too heavy a rolling-pin I shouldn't wonder.

@ossobuco,
No, I will NOT say it again! (Check the last page.)

Jacques has assured me that he can take care of the bar without my help. Embarrassed I'm going back to the kitchen now. I hope I can stay out of trouble there.

@Eva,
I cannot fathom, Eva, why you would aim for the corner. Certainly not anything Spendius said, I hope.

I just found a note from FS telling me to check the oven...

Oh look! She made us a Pizza Margherita! All those wonderful vine-ripened tomatoes we're getting right now must have inspired her! When the ingredients are hand selected for freshness and quality, this simple combination of tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, fresh mozzarella and hand tossed dough cannot be beat. It is perfection.

Who wants to join me? (I can't eat the whole thing!)

@Eva,
I think I would like it. I might have to pretend those red ripe tomatoes were pepperonie, but I would love to join in.

@roger,
I grilled some pepperoni, (e? ) eh? Smile Cause i know you boys have to have your meat, don't fear, it's on it's way, you can add it on top...

After I take a couple of pieces first, I'm bad.. Don't care about adding any weight today.....

Glad you found the note EVA. Checking previous page....

Oh, what would you think of a husky, laying across a garden setting table, with a bone so the other dog can't get it? Should I down load and post it Smile

@the prince,
What I've been drinking a lot of recently is my own variation on the raspberry beret. I've got loads of raspberries in my garden right now.

Take a shot glass and half fill it with white creme de cacao. Then float the spirit on top off the back of a spoon. For oginal berets use silver tequila, but I use raspberry flavoured vodka. (Peach flavoured vodka and pisco both work very well.) Then drop a fresh raspberry into it. The raspberry floats on top of the cacao, but sinks beneath the spirit. It should look like this. Sorry about the size of the pic, it was the only one I could find.

@izzythepush,
Last Sunday, on July 8, our friend, Gene, and I had our joint special (and last) 77th birthday party at the Palo Alto golf clubhouse's Bay Cafe. We had 46 at the party; family members from each side, and our common friends. For Asians, especially the Japanese, the 77th is one of the major events in one's life. Although we also celebrate the 88th and 99th birthdays, we have decided that our 77th will be our last birthday celebration with family and friends. I've also had my 50th and 70th birthday parties with family and friends.

Here's some pictures of the event.

@cicerone imposter,
I'm envying the beautiful blue skies. We've had the wettest, April, May and June since records began, and July hasn't been much different.
