How great....to see everyone gathered about..and new faces to put together with names is a fabulous thing! The fact that everyone, once again, is a handsome group just proves the theory that we're all beautiful inside and out once again...thanks to you all for sharing with the rest of us!
K...you DID go...proof at last that she actually took a vacation...this is a good thing. Smile
Oh yeah...and I pictured Stoat in flannel as well and wonder why there is no shot of the famous stoatmobile as well???? Wink

At last. We're all such patient waiters. Patio, your wife is very pretty. Is she as smart as she looks? It's great at last to see each other. It's like taking off our masks. Fun. Thanks, P&L.

Pdog is plenty tall! Taller and he'd be as tall as....as... as stoat actually. I didn't expect Stoat to be so tall. Not only did I expect him to be wearing flannel, but I expected him to be quite fuzzy.

Now....orange shirt?

Sigh.

To share, in case you didn't explore her site at length, I and m'dog have a lone picture on little k's site under A2K General...for people who want to put in pics of selves when they haven't gotten to meetings... or in my case, I have met some a2k and abuzz folk, but am careful of their privacy. Might review those and seek permission.

Listen, some people are shy, some are probably avoiding the law, and some people enjoy the disconnect of not being visualized per photo. I think permission is important.

P&L, thanks for the great pictures! A wonderful looking crew, flannel or not.
What struck me was that everyone looked relaxed and happy as is usual with a2k gatherings. A2k has an incredibly diverse, interesting and, most of all, fun group of people.
Hope to meet some northeasterners in the next couple of years.

Wow! Great pics, PaL & LittleK. I have to say, my favorite is Stoat with rainbow & Littlek's profile. A Masterpiece!

K -- What a darling little boy! Your nephew? Nice family shots and a gorgeous woods. Glad to see lots of horticultural pics -- that purple stand of flowers -- a native orchid?

Thanks for taking & posting the photos and thanks, all you lovely & handsome a2k models, for allowing us to see your glowing faces.

Mmmm, the pix of that darling little boy are prolly coming down soonish. I wanted to get them on my site until I went home to download them to my hard drive. He's a friend's child and as darling in personality as in physique. But, permission is the rule of the day and though his picture is already online, I don't think his parents' are.

Piffka - looks like we may not be meeting after all! How sad!

Yep, sorry I missed the one chance I had. Vacation trips are never as long as you want nor do you get to do all you'd like to do. Hope your visit in Portland is good. Was the west coast what you expected?

I'm soooooooo jealous too!!

I figured out that I was picturing patiodog as E.G.'s cousin, who has a similar personality. He has a lot of curly red hair that he usually wears in a ponytail, some kind of beard (maybe goatee, I don't remember), a big grin, a broad, full face, and is just kinda big and barrel-chested, though he's not that tall. Patiodog's face is much more angular, more contrast. Dunno where I got the tall thing from (not that he isn't, just thought tallER). Complaining about airplane seats? Basketball?

And I figured out the patiocompanion thing! (ehBeth, interesting that we both had the same reaction -- some people are like that, just seem familiar. Usually nice people.) At any rate, she looks just like my friend Sarah from Madison. (Have you guys decided yet, pd? You must've, since you'll be moving in not too long, right? Confused)

It's looking like Wisconsin, as much as we'd been trying to avoid the climate and a top-flight university. Still haven't heard from UC Davis regarding law school and Sacto doesn't look like they're going to come through with any aid for me. So, yeah, come August we'll be selling most of our furniture, driving what's left to Madison, boarding the dogs there, then driving forthwith to pick up some furniture that's being cast off by the gf's mother as she downsizes her living situation. So, 'bout 4000 miles of driving in a week, much with two dogs and in two vehicles. Fun.

As regards the b-ball, I was a three point specialist and a PTPer (pine-time performer) -- you know, slow feet and all that.

(Are there other pics of k's trip? Going to look now.)

Oh, man. That sucks. Where's forthwith? (gf's mother.)

As you know, I am a veritable fount of information on all things Madison, so do feel free to ask for anything -- best cheap furniture store (St. Vincent DePaul -- they have some good stuff), best dumpster diving (Langdon, the last week of class in June -- rich sorority/ fraternity kids will throw out perfectly wonderful things they don't want to schlep home), best beef jerky (Farmer's Market, guys under a tent on the SE side), etc., etc.

I know it's not your first choice, but truly, Madison is a wonderful place. I was recently talking to a guy and mentioned that I'd lived there for 8 years and he said "Well why the heck did you leave?? I'd live there in a heartbeat, if I had the chance."

Honestly, we're both California, sun-soaked kids when it comes down to it, underneath the feeble protective layers we've developed elsewhere, and have wanted badly to be back in the light of the sun. Also, we're both a little spooked by flat places, and we've no support network in Wisconsin whereas my entire family is in California. Ah well, such is life. Educationally this is the much better choice, anyway.

Littlek's pics remind me of what I end up doing when charged with the camera. A few pictures of people, but mostly rocks and plants and stuff. (Still, no pics of Peace and Love? Maybe I'll have to draw one...)
