... and drink lots of champagne (from California, of course).
Anyone see the Ray Charles video? I got chills when they showed the Rotunda bathed in lights with Ray singing America the Beautiful.
I won't be watching a single second of it. It is a travesty that this crowd has been allowed to steal the election and take away the only voice the American people have against tyrrany.
There is nothing Bush could say, not one thing, to engender any trust or support from me. He has shown himself to be extremist, divisive, deceptive, and dangerous. And regardless of what he might say regarding "unity", he has made it quite clear that he intends to continue his extremist, divisive, deceptive, dangerous policies for four more years.
As Bush makes his new appointments and lays out his new plans (or, in some cases, lack thereof i.e. Iraq), it is becoming more and more clear that things will get much worse before they can get better, both at home and abroad.

Your term, then, for the other side winning?

It's actually Bush's richest cronies and donors who are gonna celebrate. It's the rest of the people who are shut out from this most secretive administration.
10 times the cost is a bargain?
My my...
Yeah, I know. I had so much fun at all the previous innaugurations, and now they won't let me into this one. But, look, the people are happy, and we must let them celebrate.
Watching and hearing Bush fumble over a speech that someone has written for him has the same effect as hearing the scratching of fingernails on a black board

Holy smokes, you're right! I shouldn't have voted for him! Thank you for your trenchant insight into world geopolitics.

There is no accounting for a lemmings stupidity. That is between you and your conscience.

The reference to lemmings implies following blindly. Most of what Bush is doing, I advocated before he became president. However, you are right about one thing. Whenever I disagree with your political outlook, my conscience bothers me.
When is this inauguration? I'm anxious to hear Bush completely change my mind about him.
It's on the radio as we type.
The re-inauguration of a fool.
Only in America.
I am watching. I wouldn't vote for Bush if I was allowed to vote in this country, but this is not about Bush. Inauguration is abou the country. I still have lots of respect for this country, though perhaps I'd have a wee bit more were there a different administration at place.
That said, I must say I get annoyed by extremists on both sides. My boss is a good example. He will not invite any conservative writer to a conference we put on (1000+ participants) out of 'principle'. of course we get tons of rightful criticism for that, but he is convinced they are all wrong, all hypocrites. And probably just outright dumb. Now I ain't a believer, but I don't think all Christians and Moslims and others are idiots, even though I myself cannot see how anyone would believe. This polarization of society is really draining, upsetting, and plain silly. There, I feel much better now.
I'm watching now on c-span, even though I get indigestion hearing him speak.
I can't get C-Span to work on my work computer.
You're not missing much, unless you are a fan of Bush speeches. This one sounds like no exception.
