Wimps! Beverage affluent, I'm gonna hook my balloon-floaty lawnchair onto the blimp-tether atop the Empire State Building.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of few buildings that withstood the onslaught, but I'd keep a knife handy anyway. Idea

Shocked Darlin, imagine the ripples across a pond when you drop a rock into it. Picture how they spread out in every direction. This is the same mechanics as a Tsunami.

Now imagine God dropping a rock the size of Mount Everest into the middle of the ocean. The ripples heading in every direction are MUCH BIGGER. Sometime in the not so distant future, this will occur. Since there is nothing to interrupt the ripples between La Palma and here; the entire East Coast of the United States is going to take a beating like we've never seen... but can imagine and predict.

I suggest you memorize the name La Palma (the Island) and Cumbre Vieja (it's volcano). If you here about a volcano waking up, simply check to see if it's this one. If it is; that means it's time to decide if this is worth running from as a precautionary measure. It will not just happen without warning like the Indian Ocean Tsunami did. Here we know what to watch for. There, we couldn't.

all i can say is, it's a good thing we spent the nation's entire savings for the next two generations on blowing up a california-sized piece of the middle east, or we'd really be up **** creek.
