White nationalist shot at protesters after Richard Spencer speech in Florida, police say

Quote:
Three supporters of the prominent white nationalist Richard Spencer have been charged with attempted murder after police said one of the men, egged on by his friends, shot at protesters “with the intent to kill” following Spencer’s speech at the University of Florida on Thursday.

@Robert Gentel,
It's unreasonable for the public to keep having to foot the security bill for these publicity stunts that are anything but peaceful. His followers have shot at protesters multiple times, ran them over, beat them and killed them and the fig leaf of free speech is getting absolutely ridiculous here. If these were Muslims we would call things like plowing a car into protesters terrorism but instead this is actually a "free speech" debate in this country.

If a Iman were touring the country "peacefully" while advocating ethnic cleansing of, say, Christians and his followers were shooting and running over their protesters we wouldn't dream of framing this debate as being about free speech. We would be having a debate about whether our reaction to this "terrorism" is proportionate.

I just got this a few minutes ago
Local musician Colton Fears, 28, lead singer of Houston metalcore band Between Parallels, was arrested for attempted murder yesterday after an altercation near a Richard Spencer event in Gainesville, Florida.
According to a release by the Gainesville Police Department, Colton Fears was in a vehicle with two other Texas men — Tyler Tenbrick, 28, and William Fears, 30 — when one of the men in the group opened fire at a group of people protesting Spencer’s University of Florida appearance.

I believe too many in law enforcement emotionally side with the white nationalists. Not all, but enough to make them go easy when possible.

To me, the most stupid behavior is going over there with the sole purpose of interrupting the man invited to speak at the university.

What a poor quality of life.

And this is what differentiate the low class dudes from a decent person, a decent person who opposes the ideals of the speaker will avoid going over there and will evade causing problems.

But, this is typical of lower class people, who can't control themselves and try like savage monkeys in the jungle to distract a presentation of someone's ideas in a center of studies.

Reading the news, the three dudes in the car, stop at the bust stop, and provoked with words the low class dudes who went at the university to release their social resent way of life.

One of the low class dudes kicked the glass of the vehicle. Typical reaction of mental immature dudes, trying to win an argument with physical aggression.

Now, from words to "physical attack", we can see that the low class people dude started the physical attack.

Then, one of the dudes from the inside the car pulled his gun and shot.

Of course there is a huge difference between a kick and shooting a gun, but the physical attack was started by the low class dude.

Why these low class dudes went at the university with the sole purpose of chanting against the speaker person?

Well, we know that the one who was born to be a beast, a beast will be his whole life... no reasoning will change his behavior. Once the beast learned to hate others, there is no cure, no way to go back... unless the low class dude repents and says publicly that Jesus Christ is the son of God and his Savior... ha ha ha ha...

Quite. Big enough you'd want to rethink who was more of a "low class dude". People who stop to chant Heil Hitler at random bus passengers and end up being arrested for attempted murder qualify pretty well I'd say.

Counter demonstrations are as American as apple pie.

Yep. Free speech is not an absolute value (no value ever is). It has to be balanced with other values, such as public safety.

University denies appearance by white nationalist Richard Spencer

Ohio State University has denied a request to rent space for an appearance by white nationalist Richard Spencer, citing risks to public safety.

An attorney representing Ohio State said in a letter sent Friday that the university consulted with law enforcement and considered Spencer's appearance at the University of Florida earlier in the week before deciding to turn down the request from Cameron Padgett, a Georgia university student organizing a tour of campuses by Spencer.

@cameronleon,
You're a beast yourself. You hate others who happen to have a darker shade of skin, and you hate Jews. You pervert passages of holy scripture in a vain attempt to justify white racism.

Please don't mention Christ. You obviously don't follow Him. You bring reproach upon the church, and you have no credibility of any kind in this forum except to present yourself as a typical Holocaust-denying white supremacist.

@nimh,
You don't understand. People who chant "Heil Hitler" are cameronleon's type of people.

1. A Democrat, James Hodgkinson, tried to kill Republican congressman playing baseball.
2. 99% of the violence at presidential campaign rallies for the last election was by the left. I know of no case in which Republicans rioted at Hillary or Bernie speeches.
3. Any liberal speaker can speak safely at any university in America, but when a conservative tries to speak, there are often riots, as we have seen repeatedly in the news.
4. In the US, trying to deny anyone the right to speak is illegal unless the person speaking is invoking people to imminent violence. People who try to prevent anyone from speaking should go to jail and be sued.

Maybe in your country, but in the US, trying to prevent someone from speaking is illegal.

If you can call Trump having the opposition beat up at his rallies is left rioting, ok.

But the shooting of people at protests is being done by the right. That and beating up left protestors.

They protest Nazi language, as is their right and duty.

So when are you going to tour US kindergardens to teach pre-schoolers about safe BDSM practices?

This response was moderated, as were several other posts by two users in this thread, for violating the A2K rules on name-calling and, in particular, personal arguments ad nauseam (when "a personal dispute between members drags on and on and gets in the way of others being able to discuss a topic").
