That was a wabbit, Jerry! AND You KNOW that - you
are just trying to upset Dlowan - aren't you? Reminding
her of the "Fatal Attraction" horror scene - it is like
the wabbit form of the movie Psycho - no wabbit will
EVER feel safe in a shower/kitchen/cage/steaming pot
ever again!!! I must admit that I really and truly
found Fatal Attraction to be an immensely satisfying,
delightful movie. I mean, after all - women DO tend
to be far more monogamous than their male counterparts.
This IS quite a wide generalization(so for those men who
are committedly monogamous, please forgive me) As
a female - I have to admit that I DID kind of enjoy
seeing Mr Hot Pants as he began to squirm a little bit
there. Like when he noticed LATER that he had got into
bed with a complete lunatic... this is what your Mom
warned you about. Bad things can happen when you
do something WRONG! KARMA It comes back to bite
you in the butt, right??? Right!
When the two of them were banging away in the
elevator shaft - do I have the right movie?
Anyway HE was certainly NOT thinking about her
mental state right then, now was he??? I mean,
how many of you know the type - wifey is away -
so bad boy husband behaves badly & cheats!
It's so old.....it's even the basis for that old
Marilyn Monroe movie ... Some Like It Hot -
remember??? Her neighbor's wife is gone off
to cooler temps at the beach and what is he
cooking up in the nether region there???
It sure isn't lasagna, now is it??

Oh, dlowan. Woe is I. It's been so long since I've eaten a soft-boiled egg that I can't remember which end of the egg I crack open. I think it was the little end. But how can I be sure? I would have paid closer attention to what I was doing if I'd known that 30 years later someone would ask me about it. Sorry.

OH Yes, well I seem to have drifted off of the
topic a wee bit haven't I.
Well!!!! - I can CLEARLY state that I am one
of the Horrible Blasphemous Big Enders
BUT............................................
with very good substantial reasoning.
For example - if you crack the LARGE end
of a soft boiled egg.......it is a simple job to
let the egg slip right out of the shell.
BUT - if you crack the SMALL end, well that
is somewhat akin to trying to push a round
peg into a square hole, now isn't it???
I don't understand what all the hullaballoo
is over the big enders. What have WE ever
done to anyone. Besides, just eggsactly
how we crack 'em, it's just nobody else's
business ..... now, isn't that right???

Oh - so Roberta claims never to have eaten
a soft boiled egg in 30 YEARS - c'mon -
fess up Roberta - I'll just bet she is a
maniacal blasphemous BigEnder, like me
but she is trying very hard to cover her
tracks. And Lettie - she is talking about
a chicken's leg having boiled water poured
on it (WE SHOULD turn THIS in to the
cruelty to animals board or something -
pouring boiling water over a chickens leg
so she pops out with a hard boiled EGG???
And eggsactly where does that put YOU
in the Big Ender or Little Enders controversy
hmmmmm Lettie?

But you do not take it out of the shell! You put it in an egg-cup, open it at the narrow end, and put a little salt and pepper in, scoop it out with your toast soldiers, then use an eggspoon to scoop out the rest!

Of COURSE it matters - how many died over the minutia of consubstantion versus transubstantion!!! These small things matter - we have a heretic in our midst! Burn her!

And stop mentioning that film, or you will provoke the Bunny..... and nobody wants THAT....do they.....?

Being a polemist by nature, I wanted to vote, and suddenly I realized that I do not eat soft-boiled eggs... It is not that I am so much scared of salmonellae, just do not like them... And the hard-boiled ones I open in random order.

I love eggs its just that we keep having health scares in the UK, salmonella in eggs, bovine spongiform encephalopathy, foot and mouth disease you name it we've had it.

I used to love dipping my little bread soldiers in runny eggs as a child, wish I could still do it, please send me some of your OK eggs by express courier.

I would gladly pay you tuesday for a healthy nutritious runny egg today !

LOL! I fear 'twould be run awayable from by the time it reached you!

Why should your eggs have salmonella, and not ours?

We seem to have missed mad cow disease - though there are fears re imported gelatin - prions, it seems, know no bounds...

But ...which end WOULD you open, could you open, an egg?

How doth the little deadly prion
In evil sit and glower,
While British folk eschew roast beef,
And glumly cringe and cower?

Any eggs may contain salmonella, salmonellosis is not an endemic disease. And doctors advise deep thermic processing of poultry and eggs to avoid unpleasant consequences(salmonellosis is much less fatal than the Kreuzfeld-Jacob's disease, but diarrhea may be really exhausting).

That was just a response to your posting, about salmonella and prions. And, I repeat, I open eggs in a random order. And when I want to make eggs-and-bacon for myself, I usually open raw egg from the middle.

Tastes differ. Some like oranges, another prefer smoked cockroaches (not me, surely).
