Dogs On Planes

It worked out ok. Boo is as stoic as a dog could be. She didn't whine, bark, growl so far as I know. But, she also wouldn't eat for about 24 hours after flying and would often get digestive upset.

I started feeling really badly for her, so I now leave her with friends/family when I can.

Leaving the little (well, not so little in your case, I guess) girl with somebody who can take care of him! Now that is a good option!

Boo. Hehehe...what kind of dog is that anyway? That's the dog in your avatar, right?

That's the best option littlek - to have friends/family
take care of the animal.

I had a dogsitter for years who'd be in my house while
I was gone. Unfortunately the girl moved away and I
haven't found anyone trustworthy yet, or they are so
outrageously expensive. One lady wanted $ 60/day
to dog sit.

I don't think they should allow anything that yaps, yelps, barks or drools on a plane, and that includes babies!

Ronald Harry Duffy, 35, had his visa revoked because of disorderly behavior "and was not allowed into the country" after the Miami-Sao Paulo flight Wednesday on TAM Airline, said Wagner Castilho, a federal police spokesman. "He has been ordered deported."

"Annoyed with the baby's constant crying, Duffy, who was drunk, threw the contents of a cup of water in the baby's face," Castilho said, adding that flight attendants had to "restrain other passengers who wanted to beat him up."

Shocked

Your name isn't Duffy by any chance, is it?

I don't hit dogs. I hit one dog, once. Now stop being crazy!

I have had a cat for the past nine years, and I haven't hit him ever. I locked him in a freezer for several hours one time just for fun, but hitting? Never.

Thanks. I think she's adorable. Boxers are great dogs, but they get sick. She's not got long to live, we're (my vet and I) thinking.

Why? What's wrong with her? How old is she?

littlek, Boxers are very delicate dogs, and they do have
a lot of health problems and won't be around longer
than 8 or 9 years. It's worth it though, I'm told by
every Boxer owner.

Ours is a little Heinz 57 teddybear dog and quite sturdy,
thank God.

She's almost 10. She's got a degenerative nerve disorder which will cause her nervous system to deteriorate, slowly and painlessly, to a point at which she won't be able to control her back legs anymore. She also gets tumors, has a thyroid condition and has lost some bladder control. They are not expected to live much beyond 9-12 years old. Still, it's really really sad.

It is sad indeed. My last dog got to be 15 years old.
When she died, I just lost it for a couple of days and
completely went into reclusion. I cried my heart out
over that dog and it took me a long time before I was
able to take in another dog.
