Harp? I've heard of it, but I have no idea what the hell it is. I'll check it out though the next time I go to a bar and they don't have Michelob. Hehe...

So did you enjoy your foamy brown stuff?

Hehehe...in that case, I suggest you pull up a rocking chair and just forget the alcohol altogether, granny.

Someone mentioned Rogue Imperial Stout.

Courage used to brew something called Russian Imperial Stout,

just googling

there you go

http://northcoastbrewing.com/ras.htm

but the stuff I used to drink came in small "nip" bottles that is 1/3 pint. Probably because it was at least 10% abv, not the 8.9% as in the American version.

so googling again

this time Russian Imperial Stout uk

and

http://www.beersofrussia.co.uk/acatalog/Russianimperialstout.html

Exactly as I remember. The red label, you can even see courage brewery at the top.

What an amazing thing...Google and Russian Imperial Stout. And after a few bottles Russian Imperial Google gooble goofble....

The Russian Imperial Stouts I've tried have been killer brews. Haven't had one in a while, kind of lost my taste for stout. I like the hoppy ales now.

Arrogant Bastard rules!

Oh, aye!

Speaking of the Old World, one of the smaller California breweries makes a barley wine called Old Rasputin. Features a mesmerizing portrait of the merry monk on the label...

Steve, I have seen the Russian stouts at the store but have not tried them yet, I looked up the rogue imperial stout and it does the old world brews justice at 11% ABV.

The Bastard has arrived!!!

I have to say you were all correct. That is one good fu**ing beer. Too bad its not available locally. Then again if it were I would end up being drunk more often than I already am.

This could end up being a bi-monthly expenditure for me.

Well 22 oz's down, 22 oz's more to go.

Hmm... choices, choices.

When I was a young lad, I enjoyed Bud, Miller Lite Ice, Labatt Blue, Mickey's malt liquor, and the occasional evening with Natural Ice (at roughly $15 a case).

Nowadays, it's mostly Heineken, Bass, Guinness (extra stout), Sam Adams (LOVE the 'Winter Lager'), Grolsch, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ... with the occasional evening with Bud, Mickey's malt liquor, and Labatt Blue.
