For those of you that like stout i would suggest trying Rogues' Imperial Stout. I just picked up a limited edition ceramic bottle.
I thought beer that dark deserved a picture.
I also picked up a six pack of Xingu which is a Brazilian beer, its pretty good but nothing to run out and look for but is almost as dark as the aforementioned stout but a bit sweeter in taste. It bills itself as "black beer".
I don't enjoy 'sweet' beer. Lager is more pleasing for me.
Sublime, I've had both Xingu and Rogue - but, neither for some years. The big bottles of rogue brewery scare me off and I haven't seen Xingu since we sold it at a bar I worked at in GA. I'd forgotten the name of it even.
Must've been pretty bad, littlek.
Nah, it wasn't bad, actually. We sold over 200 types of beer at one point and some were short-lived - that was a short-lived brand.
200? What's the name and address of that bar?
It's not worth going there now.
ci, place in Boston has around 120-140(?) beers on tap, not including a ton of bottled beer. Place is great. Sunset Bar&Grill.
Oh yeah! - isn't it in Brookline? Also, the Bukowski Tavern (one in Boston, one in Cambridge) has a good selection.
It's in Allston/Brighton on Brighton Ave. Brookline's probably less than a mile up the road, though.
littlek, thanks for the Stone ordering info. I will be enjoying some Arrogant Bastard within 5 to 11 working days.
You ordered the following items:
Beer (22 oz) - Bottle=Arrogant Bastard Ale
Qty = 4
Beer (22 oz) - Bottle=Stone 8th Anniversary Ale
Qty = 1
Beer (22 oz) - Bottle=Stone Ruination IPA
Qty = 1
Wow! Don't try and drink that all in one night! I'm so excited for you. After all the hype, after the effort, after the cost, I hope you like it (a lot).
I'm sure I will, a couple of people at the liquor store said that I was like the 8th or 9th person to ask about Arrogant Bastard so there must be something behind it.
I was thinking about drinking it all in one night and then posting about it. That would be interesting.
I dunno, I don't think you'd be able to find the keyboard. And, no, that isn't a challenge.
I don't think I would either. Those are 22 ouncers.
I am really curious about the 8th anniversary ale, it was a bit more expensive than the rest but I had to buy in multiples of six so I thought why not.
I don't know anything about that anniversary one. I'm sure it's yummy.
Happy St. Patricks Day!
A toast to everyone at A2K:
May the best of your past be the worst of your future, Prost!
So...which is the best green beer?
