I don't go much on Fosters, but the one you depict 'Four XXXX' is also a very popular brew here.

Jamieson brown ale is my choice of boutique beers. Its a local brew.

My coice for a commercial brew would be Cascade.

I'm hoping to test some different brews when in Europe later this year

I'm partial to Downtown Brown, an entirely different animal from Tsing Tao, which I also like in chinese restaurants, even more so different from Pacifico.. which I probably like for the label and the lightness. I know there are increasingly many good craft beers in several countries, but haven't tried them. Not much of a beer drinker - like it sometimes on a really hot day in the shade, or the dark beers occasionally in winter.

Downtown Brown - an acquaintance did the label..

That Boylan soda is the sweetest thing I've ever tasted. I like Thomas Kemper better.

I don't think my favorite beer is imported anymore -- San Miguel Dark from the Phillipines. For domestic beer I like Anchor Steam. I live in micro-brew heaven but I don't drink enough beer to know what is really good.

Like Tico, I like ales. Stone Pale Ale and Dogfish Head IPA are my current favorites.

@Dutchy,
XXXX isnt a real beer, it's just fermented cane toad urine in fancy packaging, and no one in Australia thinks Fosters is any good, thats why we sell it overseas.
Everyone knows the best beer in the world is the one your wife brings you at the end of a hot day, while sitting in your underpants in front of your favourite sport

The grocery store's had this stout on sale for a while. I prefer it to Guiness and it might be just a bit smoother than Boddington's .

@maltecozar,
Have you tried Ruthless Rye by Sierra Nevada

If you like it you should try some of the other brews by this excellent firm
