LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- A Texas judge ordered a defendant's mouth to be taped shut after the man kept interrupting his lawyer and the judge during an aggravated assault trial.
For about 20 minutes Tuesday, Carl Wiley, 36, ignored pleas from state District Judge Jim Bob Darnell and his own mother to keep quiet during a hearing outside the jury's presence.
Finally, Darnell ordered bailiffs to seal Wiley's mouth with duct tape.
"He was being very disruptive and he was trying to fire his second court-appointed attorney, and I informed him that when the attorney is appointed by the court, only the court can fire the attorney," Darnell said.
"Mr. Wiley continued to interrupt him," Darnell said, referring to attorney Steve Hamilton, "so the court duct-taped his mouth until the jury came in.

The court will be accepting duct tape donations

Did anyone see Mike Farrell (sp) (The guy from Mash) on Crossfire last night. My husband said "What's that on his lapel?" We both stared a minute then realized it was a strip of duct tape. We were rolling on the floor Very Happy

Sounds like the defendant was being patriotic, though a bit behind the times. Duct tape is so last week...

perhaps I must speak less confoozledly, or, not to put a fine point upon it, nor indeed a coarse one, though some may consider it a LITTLE coarse: How the smeg can a mudflap be made to be provocative?

I'd prefer the term 'smeg' not to appear again in any thread where I sit, recently bathed.

To clarify re mud flaps...are you not excited by road grime coated chromium reliefs of the female figure - not just ANY female figure, mind, but one where the breasts perk like doves on methedrine?
