Hi Noddy, and hi everybody.I think that father has this mild sores, or let's say something like patches in his you know. This only because he needs changing more than one time. The problem is that I'm busy with this teaching that I don't like. So, I'm keeping my mother and sister with him until I'm back. The two ladies are so wonderful, but it's too much for them alone.I can't get someone to help because I'm a bachelor according to the law here.I wonder what would I do?.I'm afraid that something come up with him, and I know it would be only hard to us to take care of him.

I know that the moment would come when I would be busy ( is this sentence grammatically correct ?)

navigator - you've got so much to try and keep on top of. Taking care of family and working, it's a lot for one (or even a small family group).

I don't understand about not being able to get someone to help because you're a bachelor? Does that mean you can't bring a nurse into the house because you're unmarried?

I hope you're remembering to take care of yourself as well as you take care of your family.

Hi ehBeth.I meant that they wouldn't let someone bring a nurse unless he is married. It's a family previlige only.I'm totally safe Smile

Well, I'm not sure about myself, but I think I'm doing fine.

Sometimes life seems unnecessarily complicated, Navigator.

If you were married, you probably wouldn't need outside help!

Today, I had this situation. The early morning, father was suffering from his left ear.He was trying to tell us that the pain comes and goes.It was attacking and retreating, and this happened at times. As you know that it's difficult to understand what he says. It's like speaking to a child.Life is strange.

It's Thursday, and there isn't an aurist in the health centre here. They won't admit him at the hospital unless he was transfered from the health centre itself.I don't care about them, because I always take him to a private clinic where he gets the proper treatment.

So, I went to more than one clinic, but no doctors were capable to exmine him becuase they weren't specialists in this. Then, I had this idea of taking him to an old doctor that I've been knowing him since I was a child!

When we were kids, we thought that this man had some potion that would make anyone muscular and strong. But, we were afraid to get that potion.Anyway, I went there but I found nobody inside. As I was going out, I saw the old man walking towards me with a child that I didn't ask about.

I told him about my father. He exmined his ear using that otoscope, and said that some little blood was inside. He gave me eardrops, and said that there was nothing inside to made me worry.

Is this an infection ?, or otitis?.I don't know.

He's also complaining from his sight.

Otitis is an infection. "Ot" = "ear". "itis" = "disorder".

I know what otitis means, but I thought it would be different from any other infection.

Thanks Noddy.

I wanna say something about the sores in his back ( you know ).I think there is little blood coming out. These patches- like began to increase.

I can't quit my job and come every morning to clean him myself Sad .It's true that I have mom and sis. but they can't handle him the way I do.

This makes me worry

You know I'm not a doctor, but the sores sound to me like "pressure sores", also called "bedsores".

I googled and found:

http://www.la4seniors.com/bedsores.htm

I'd talk to a doctor--or a savvy visiting nurse--immediately.

Thanks Noddy and Montana.I was taught in the hospital during my staying there with my brother how to take care of patients ( crippled ).

Actually, I helped alot in taking care of elderlies and others ( I was staying in the ortho ward ).Changing positions, cleaning, and giving path.Although I didn't know most of them, but my father, and also mother always telling me of giving to others. This because I would need someone to help me one day when I'm old.

I haven't seen such images. They were really shocking Noddy Smile .The worst case I saw in a hospital was for a man.You could insert a whole scissors inside!

They are mild with father

Thanks Noddy, you are great.God bless you

Here in the states there are foam rubber pads to help buoy up bony, helpless bodies. I've also read that putting sheepskin (with the fleece side up) under the bottom sheet is helpful.

Can you help your mother and sister figure out a way that by working together they can shift his position?

You are right.I don't use the sheepskin here, though we were using it back at the hospital. It was comfortable, and helpful in shifting patients.

I think I'll get one. Thanks for the ideas

Can we consider dermatitis as a kind of bedsores?.But, I'm not sure of the name. It's some sort of rash.Anyway, I didn't take him to a dermatologist, but to another doctor who gave him an ointment, pills, and injection.

I understand some basic methods like using cold water because this helps easing the scratching.Does this inactivate the trigger ?!

Others, oral antihistamine , and some oatmeal bath I guess.

I'm a bit concerned. At the same time, I feel that everything under control. Confused

Sheepskin is a great idea. It's used in a lot of hospitals to ease discomfort.

Piffka recommended sheepskin for sleeping with years ago. My dogs loved the sheepskin she slept with when we met at a mutual friend's place. I bought the dogs 2 small sheepskins each for napping on. I've now stolen one that I use on my computer chair, and sometimes put under my shoulders when they're a bit achy.

Sheepskin's a marvellous ache reducer.

I had an accident this day morning. It wasn't big, just fender bender. I was rushing from school to my father. I was concerned about getting late of my father bath schedule. First, I went to the market, and got some stuff for lunch, and for mom. Had to do this though. Mom is being tired lately, and I don't want her to do anything. Back to the story, it was a school bus, which scratched the front of my car. The old man was angry, but when he got down to see who was the stupid that ruined his day. He found me Very Happy . Lucky that I know him, and he knows us as well. So, he smiled at me, and said, go home son I don't need anything from you.

Of course, I said many sorries, was me, etc. I had to go home and save the day there, but I met him later. He said nothing was serious, and didn't want anything for the slight damage.

I thought to post this, after all I was thinking of my daddy.

PS it's my first I guess
