You are a good son, but your father is an old man. Is he warm enough? Cold can remind the elderly of all sorts of aches and pains that can be ignored with warmth.

Can he find comfortable positions for sleeping? What does the doctor say about painkillers?

Hold your dominion.

Certainly, he is.Because I stay and sleep near him, and make sure he is in a good condition.

Noddy, you are sweet. Thanks anyway.I think, I won't post anything anymore.

Maybe he will stay like this for along time.I love my daddy, and family. There is nothing I can do but to wait.

Thank you guys.You rock Cool

Ok, I have to add this now.My father has this lower back pain, I think it is not like lumbago. The pain comes in times, and stay for a while.Let's say it occurs occasionally if my English helps. When I had a look on his lower back, I saw this thingy in bones (lumbar vertebrae), a little projection or prominence maybe, not sure,.What I'm sure that it causes pain.Maybe it needs surgery, this would trouble me more Sad

The lower back pain is something a doctor should evaluate. Has your father been losing weight?

I think yes, because we only give him soft food. But most of the time he likes to eat fish.No much calories, and he drinks ( only water ofcourse ) well .I'm the caterer Smile

The other day he complained from his stomach, but now he is fine except the back. You are right, I'll take him to a specialist. This a little hard to him, also to us.I'll do my best.

Ok, I took him where my brother was for 2 years. The ortho ward, the place where I slept, and studied for my college.I found my old staff friends, some of them.Life is strange, when you get to know it better, you feel that you are nothing, and that you have nothing.I don't know why I had this feeling there.Anyway, the old story; x-ray then something I'm not sure of the right word to describe it.Let's say twisted in the lowerback, and it probably needs a surgery. But my father didn't want to stay, he said that he was feeling right, and now he doesn't complain. The doctor didn't admit him- because of dad ofcourse-.But, I think I will try to take him back.

God helps, because I don't want to refuse anything he wants especially now.

You are a wise man to allow your father the dignity of living his own choices as long as he can. At his age an operation would be dangerous and the recovery time long and uncomfortable.

Hold your domion.

You are such a good son, navigator.

Taking care of your dad as he ages and is unwell is not an easy thing. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well.

You've got some good friends here who you can always talk to.

Be very well, friend.

Thanks ehBeth.I'm writing this as I watch over my brother.Life is strange and funny as well.Yesterday morning, we were surprised that the youngest brother came to see his eldest, and guess what, it was the first time.My uncle never showed up neither to see my father nor my brother.I didn't know what to say, he just walked inside the room. When he saw my father bedridden, he burst in crying.Everybody was looking, just looking. Now, we left them a lone for a long time, but that was a thing to remember, because my uncle is the tough type person.

Ok, now I can't sleep till morning and I know that I really can't Smile .My brother have been sufferring from this burning in urine, this led to a high temp. and vomiting etc etc..the old story.Doctors said that he must drink a lot of water daily considering that he can't move, and that what he didn't.He know alot about his case, but he neglected drinking enough water, because it's cold weather, and he didn't feel like.I've just brought him from a health center here; he was given injection and tablets but no IV.

I'm just waiting for him, he is sleeping now. What scares me most is the temperature .But, I'm waiting.I love my father and brother and I can't do any help but to wait.

Thanks Nod. It's now 5 am while I'm writing this. This is the second day and my bro has this motion problem; he is passing stool every 30 or 40 minutes and I'm getting really tired cleaning.I took him to the hospital yesterday morning , but the fever kept coming and going.Fever like evil, you can't really tell when it would attack !!

What should I do to stop the motion?.His friend- quadriplegia like him and more experienced- told him that it's a matter of another day before everthing calm down.

All I can suggest is a simple diet: tea, plain rice and lots of water.

You certainly have your hands full. Hold your dominion.

The tablets prescribed stopped the motion ( passing stool every 40 or 50 minutes , that was the worst diahrrea I ever seen, and ofcourse I was cought in the middle Smile ).I thought everything was over, but not passing made my brother vomitting with a continuous pain in the stomach. He terrified me when said that it could be an ulcer and like this he wouldn't be able to eat anything. Then, I was intending to skip job next day and take him downtown.I didn't know any good private hospital for crippled people around. When the night came he seemed to be alright again. Now he is doing fine, and I don't know about the coming days .

Thanks Noddy, everything is ok for now with father..

You certainly have a full-time career as a home nurse on top of your day job--particularly since your brother doesn't seem to be a perpetually patient invalid.

Hold your dominion.
