>sigh<

I don't get it - what's the big deal about putting it on his headstone? Geez he died defending this country.

I'm sure it will be approved, either that or they will have to change the Constitution.

"Charmed"
Let's just get this out in the open - I feel silly for asking but would feel really dumb if there was validity to it and I didn't find out until after I turned my paper in:

Is "Charmed" symbolically accurate? If so in what areas?

Is there a "tri-quatra(sp?)" symbol for Wiccan religion?
If so does it match the one on their "Book of Shadows"?

Shewolf:

No No No - I mean there is no draft so he was apparently in the military of his own desire and did not turn his back on a country that does not recognize his freedom to worship as he chose to - I am saying that the very least they can do for this man is to get off his wife's back and let her put whatever she wants on his stone.

I agree with Green Witch - accept it or change the constitution.

D&C--

On most bases Wiccans have the right to hold services.

I'm sure when this soldier enlisted to serve his country he didn't think about the fine print of dying for his country.

Many other religions have the legal right to have their symbols on the graves of their believers in military cemeteries.

Why should this soldier be denied that right?

Wiccan Soldier
Hey Noddy24:

I think I am being misunderstood - I don't think he should be denied anything. I think it is awful that the military/government is making an already painful situation worse for his wife.

Did I misunderstand that article in NPR? I understood it to say that basically the military/government is denying his wife the right to fulfill her husband's religious rights/wishes of having the Wiccan symbol engraved upon his tombstone.

I apologize to anyone here that I may have offended - was not my intent at all.

i think the confusion was just in your post .

Your intent was to say ' why should the government care. He was doing his job defending the country. Why should it matter what is on a head stone" ( right? )

but your statement sounded like you were saying other wise.
No biggie.
confusion happens. ;-)

Charmed is about as accurate for witches as 90210 is for white teens

"Charmed"
Do you think Charmed has created an interest in Wicca?

If so, has it been a since interest for understanding or freakish curiosity?

So there is no tri-quatra(sp?) or "book of shadows" per say?

Thanks!

a book of shadows is a witches diary.

they ( meaning the show )
make it out to be more then it really is. From what i have seen that is.. and that isnt much.

I have only watched the show maybe... 3 times?

actually-

edit that.

A book of shadows is more then just a diary.

it is a diary of her religous workings, spells and ideas. A dream log, a book of brew notes, basically a life log of her magick workings.

Dreams
Hi Shewolf:

Are dreams considered more than the subconsious working out daily frustrations?

"Magick Workings"?

Is it a true belief of those in the Wiccan faith that any negative done by a member of the faith is returned upon them? This is something that I heard once on one of those "news programs" like primetime live, 20/20, etc.

Thanks:

yes.
and it is a pretty basic idea.

You get exactly what you give out.

You can take religion out of it if you like.. and just think about it like this.

If you are always a mad person, always a rude person, always an edgy person, that is how you will be treated most of the time.

Basically.. you get back what you give out.

If you are always a happy person, always a giving person, always a friendly, for the most part, you will get that in return from people.

To a wiccan, it is a bit more serious then that, but that is the basic concept.
