Well, it certainly looks like another four years of bitterness, division, stupidity, idiocy, puppetry, mispeaks, circumvention of the Constitution, and perhaps another devastating 9/11 type attack on U.S. soil (as the first one happened on Bush's watch as well).

Democrats just cannot play the kind of dirty political games and tricks that it takes to win.

As the election lingers on for days before a clear winner is called, expect the conservative spin masters to permeate the airwaves and force the network's hands in calling it for Bush. The GOP fear mongering apparently worked. Gays, guns and god became the default manipulating factors. The fear mongering of "we're safer, but we are gonna be attacked again" worked splendidly. The blatant lies of the Swift Boaters were believed; 60% of Republicans still believe Saddam had WMDs; the president of Diebold promised Bush the White House, and he seems to have delivered that promise; Republican operatives tell those with traffic tickets they cannot vote; network news is in the hands of media conglomerates beholding to the all mighty dollar; Fox news and Sinclair Broadcasting Group use their enormous influence to lie and smear the electorate into believing practically anything; GOP operatives tell voters that Kerry will ban the bible, take your guns away, promote gay marriage, let the terrorists attack us, and allow the world to run the U.S. government....

I just can't go on.

What has happened to our electoral system?

It is in utter shambles!

God help us all...

I bet all those progressives that have been lobbying for electoral reform have crawled back under a big rock this AM.

I wish I'd taken the bet with my liberal co-worker on the popular vote. At $.01/vote, he'd owe me almost $40K right now.

I am now convinced that neoconservatives can't read.

And that is what Bush has always counted on...

I am thankful to be in my mid 50's instead of my mid 20's....I may be lucky enough to die before we are a third world country.....

Your underestimation of the intellect of your political adversaries is typical and a major reasion for the serial rejection of the Dem ideology in this decade, dookie.

Wise up, or your fate will most certainly be the same in 2008.

It's pretty easy to see that liberals cannot reason.

In the great tradition of Republican oratory comes Stupid Bush Quotes. Words that float from the lips with the grace of a Hindenburg in flight. Here at Stupid Bush Quotes, we not only have George W. Bush quotes, but quotes from great right-wing rhetoricians from Eisenhower to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not since the days of Oscar Wilde has a generation been so blessed. Indeed, as George W. himself not long ago quipped: "Actually, I...this may sound a little West Texan to you, but I like it. When I'm talking about...when I'm talking about myself, and when he's talking about myself, all of us are talking about me." You said it George!

WE MUST ALL HEAR THE UNIVERSAL CALL TO LIKE YOUR NEIGHBOR JUST LIKE YOU LIKE TO BE LIKED YOURSELF.

I HAVE A DIFFERENT VISION OF LEADERSHIP. A LEADERSHIP IS SOMEONE WHO BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER.

I MEAN, THERE NEEDS TO BE A WHOLESALE EFFORT AGAINST RACIAL PROFILING, WHICH IS ILLITERATE CHILDREN.

LEADERSHIP TO ME MEANS DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY. IT MEANS CHARACTER, AND IT MEANS LISTENING FROM TIME TO TIME.

IN MY SENTENCES I GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE.

ONE OF THE COMMON DENOMINATORS I HAVE FOUND IS THAT EXPECTATIONS RISE ABOVE THAT WHICH IS EXPECTED.

THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB IS NOT TO BE GOVERNOR, OR FIRST LADY IN MY CASE.

THERE'S NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH PEOPLE IN THE SYSTEM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE LIKE ME.

WE ARE READY FOR ANY UNFORESEEN EVENT WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN.

THEY WANT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONTROLLING SOCIAL SECURITY LIKE IT'S SOME KIND OF FEDERAL PROGRAM.

I APPRECIATE THAT QUESTION BECAUSE I, IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, HAD HEARD A LOT OF DISCUSSION ABOUT A FAITH-BASED INITIATIVE ERODING THE IMPORTANT BRIDGE BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE.

FOR EVERY FATAL SHOOTING, THERE WERE ROUGHLY THREE NON-FATAL SHOOTINGS. AND, FOLKS, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN AMERICA. IT'S JUST UNACCEPTABLE. AND WE'RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

THIS ADMINISTRATION IS DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN TO END THE STALEMATE IN AN EFFICIENT WAY. WE'RE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS TO BRING THE SOLUTION TO AN END.

ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT BOOKS IS SOMETIMES THERE ARE SOME FANTASTIC PICTURES.

I MENTIONED EARLY ON THAT I RECOGNIZE THERE ARE HURDLES, AND WE'RE GOING TO ACHIEVE THOSE HURDLES. [1/22/2003]

PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY VERY WEIRD CAN GET INTO SENSITIVE POSITIONS AND HAVE A TREMENDOUS IMPACT ON HISTORY.

THE ADMINISTRATION I'LL BRING IS A GROUP OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE FOCUSED ON WHAT'S BEST FOR AMERICA, HONEST MEN AND WOMEN, DECENT MEN AND WOMEN, WOMEN WHO WILL SEE SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY AS A GREAT PRIVILEGE AND WHO WILL NOT STAIN THE HOUSE.

IT'S CLEARLY A BUDGET. IT'S GOT A LOT OF NUMBERS IN IT.

I UNDERSTAND SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH. I WAS ONE.

HE CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. HE CAN'T TAKE THE HIGH HORSE AND THEN CLAIM THE LOW ROAD.

RARELY IS THE QUESTION ASKED: IS OUR CHILDREN LEARNING?

WILL THE HIGHWAYS ON THE INTERNET BECOME MORE FEW?

WE CANNOT LET TERRORISTS HOLD THIS NATION HOSTILE OR HOLD OUR ALLIES HOSTILE.

THERE'S AN OLD SAYING IN TENNESSEE -- I KNOW IT'S IN TEXAS, PROBABLY IN TENNESSEE...THAT SAYS, FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON...SHAME ON YOU. FOOL ME...YOU CAN'T GET FOOLED AGAIN. [9/17/2002]

AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS, I HAVE SET HIGH STANDARDS FOR OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND I HAVE MET THOSE STANDARDS.

OUR NATION MUST COME TOGETHER TO UNITE.

"I HAVE MADE GOOD JUDGMENTS IN THE PAST. I HAVE MADE GOOD JUDGMENTS IN THE FUTURE."

It's pretty easy to see that liberals cannot reason.

It's alot easier to see that neoconservatives don't give a damn about honesty and moral integrity when it comes to our electoral process.

And that is why the Dems are losing big.

Honesty has given Bush a 3.5 million vote lead in the popular vote; I thought this is what you libs said were the true way to determine who the winner was?

What the Dem's have trouble grasping is that while they perceive themselves to be smarter and more attuned, they've been in electoral decline for over a decade.

Talk about your basic disconnect from reality ....

Just think, in a few days/weeks, Hillary will announce her intentions to run.

Then you folks can start smiling again.

If the Dems learned anything from the Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry debacles they will not run another wild eyed liberal like Hillary.

They need to find another politician like Clinton, who may have liberal leanings but has the good sense to keep them to himself and govern as near to the center as possible while still maintaining the support of the predominantly liberal Dem party.

Tough challenge. But that is what it is going to take if they ever want the WH and control of Congress again.
