Has anyone heard from Dlowan? I haven't heard a peep out of her for months. I certainly hope she is ok -- I consider her to be one of my best friends. I must go now. I am crying.

Deb has decided not to speak again for about six weeks, while we all catch up with her.

Oh great! Dlowan's gone on a sabbatical. What the hell am I supposed to do in the meantime? Dlowan is the glue that holds this whole thing together. Am I supposed to rely on Setanta now? Nothing against Setanta, of course, he's a fine scholarly person who has supplied me with valuable information and who has a certain admirable tolerance for the lowly capybara farmer, and I appreciate that, but he doesn't have that certain antipodal guidance I need to keep my life from spinning out of control.

I don't know... I just sense Dlowan is hurt. We cut her. We cut her deep. I think we should all be ashamed. That poor woman is out wandering with the kangaroos and wallabies right now, crying her eyes out, and we're all comfortably sitting in our homes, making light of the situation.

I think we should all take a moment of silence and reflect on the joy and guidance that Dlowan has brought into our lives. When, and if, she returns, we should greet her with open arms and quit picking on the poor thing so much. She's suffered enough.
