Great Portugese restaurants in Newark, I hear. Which may be a mixed blessing; I didn't find any in Portugal ('cept for that one place that brought me that crispy trout, mmmmm).

Torremolinos....dys, you just awkaked a great memory. If you get down to active planning on this, give B and L a little notification, just on the off chance we might be able to rendevous (though off chance it is likely to be). Did you notice that the girls of southern Spain are actually quite yummy?

All this talk of travel to exotic locations with warm invitations extended to friends has made me a bit embarrassed. How selfish of me not to invite some of you fine people to accompany me on my upcoming trip. I will be going to Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday morning. I plan on attending a Tractor Pull and, if luck goes my way, I will be a judge in a egg-throwing contest. Later, if I have the time, I am going to Gackle, South Dakota and toss a frizbee around the parking lot of the feed mill with some of the boys. If anyone here cares to tag along, well, I'll be more than happy to have you.

How does Gus keep up with his busy social calendar? It seems he has no time for himself.

I worry that Gus may be overextended.

I'd help him out, but I've a full weekend of competition slated myself. Watermelon seed spitting on Saturday morning, Turkey calling that afternoon followed by a demolition derby in the evening. All of Sunday has been set aside for competitive extreme square dancing, where half of the competitors are untrained problem bears from Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks. The difficult part of this latter competition is you are not told ahead of time who are the human competitors and who are the wild bears. It makes for quite an interesting time, though I did receive a lovely marionberry turnover from an Eastern Washington brown bear at the box social last year. Sadly, the pool of ursine (or orsine, if you prefer -- none, however, will be cosine, though I may ask one to cosign a loan for me) competitors has been geographically restricted this year, so I may be resigned to venison jerky.

Goodness, some of you have wonderfully exotic interests~!

And the places you go to. Gackle, S Dakota - now there's a name to grapple with. And egg throwing at Fargo. How on earth does one judge an egg-throwing competition?

Extreme square dancing; watermelon spitting; Sturgis event (whatever that is...?)

I have pencilled in this weekend for watching the grass grow - and, as it's the middle of winter, there's not a lot of that happening. Perhaps I should paint something as well, to give me a secondary interest? Don't want to over-extend myself though.

Gus - thanks for the invite - but I can't make it this weekend. I have to comment on how much different you look out of uniform Razz

Well now, I wasn't going to mention it, but I've got a vacation planned in lovely Waxahachie........but we had a hard time deciding between that and Lufkin.....or maybe Pilot Point. It's so good to get away for a little while. (much of this is lost in the reading, no accent, too bad it's better that way.)
