Sleep? I have been a veritable Eighth Sleeper! Vitamins have gone in and out of me at a stunning rate! I have the multitudinous seas ensaffroned!
However - there are signs, at last, of real progress.
Today I have: not slept most of the day; cleaned; brushed the cats; been able to get a toy rat out of the vacuum cleaner; checked oil, air (and added LOTS thereof - FOUR slowly leaking tyres I have on this smegging "new" car!) and coolant as well as filling the car; bought the teeth cleaning kibble I have meant to buy for Oscar for the last two months.
I have energy!
Darn, you have too much energy. I have been worn out by the Slovaks dragging me from pub to pub every day and at this point I only have the will to stare blankly at the computer screen, in fact these few lines here is all I did today besides taking a shower. You energetic people depress me. Perhaps I need a drink...
Dagglepuss! How goes the thesis? - Nose to the grindstone, woman - there's all the rest of your life to drink in!
And I have started the rest of my life already. Why wait? The thesis is just fine, thank you. At least I haven't heard it complaining about anything. Or heard it at all. But this week I will tap into the local elites of Southern Slovakia...errr .....can't wait. And howz your bird hanging? Or perhaps I shouldn't throw around phrases I hear, being a foreigner and all that. Lord know what those English-speaking people use it for. You done with being a sickling?
Maybe the thesis is on "Pubs of Old Europe"
That's certainly one of my favorites. Bar none.
Actually, pubs of old europe are pretty boring !
I did a tour of German pubs once and couldn't get enough
Pubs here are just fine. After awhile it does not really matter anyway. AND they are dirt cheap. The dissertation does involve lots of pubs - after all I do a public opinion survey, and the public, like it or not, hangs out in the pubs more frequently than your decent Westerner. And public is more talkative if you get him a drink. So, after all, knowing my public, I believe my methods are highly appropriate and scientific!
They ain't called "pubs" for nothing! Research away, with clean conscience!
