Just a quick not to let you know Cope is in the hospital. I am to bring him the games so he can do his picks. Then I am to find some where with a computer to send them for him. If all goes well I will post his picks.

Terrie...sorry to hear about Cope. I, too, hope it is nothing serious and he can get home soon. The Board of Directors of this thread (namely, johnboy) has ruled that, as long as Cowdoc makes his picks before the games begin, it really isn't all that critical that you meet the deadline for actually posting them. And, of couse, he is certainly under no obligation to play at all if he doesn't feel up to it. Thanks. John

If I might interrupt the thread for just a second, I would like to relay a quote from Paul Zimmerman, of Sports Illustrated.

He said, and I'll have to paraphrase here: "If I die and go to hell, hell will be a Brett Favre football game with the Sunday night crew announcing."

Or was it the Monday Night crew?

Either way -- they're both applicable.

Carry on.

Well, johnboy is embarrassed. He filled out his pick sheet, but never seems to have posted it. Here is what he went for:
NE
NYG
DE
AZ
SEA
INDY
CAR
PITT
MIA
JAX
WASH
OAK
CIN
STL
ATL
BALT (41)
He hasn't had the tv, radio etc on so has no idea about what is going on in the first game. He begs for mercy but completely understands that rules are rules and he is prepared to sit on the bench this week. Did Johnboy mention that he rescued a puppy, or was it a kitten from the middle of an 8-lane highway yesterday. It was a puppy and a kitten, actually, and there was a little kid standing next to the road, screaming:
"Fluffy! Spookums! " just as four lanes of 18-wheelers came over the crest of the hill. Just thought that should be noted.

Thanks for the concern, everyone! I made it back home this afternoon. Apparently will never be the same (they took away my chewing tobacco, told me to cut out the booze, and said I have to lose thirty pounds. Heart attacks are truly the screaming meemies, I guess. Good luck to y'all this weekend!

Great to hear that you are back home, cowdoc. At least, you got out of going to DC for a bunch of boring meetings.
