Pregging may be a crappy job, but it pays considerably better than leaves!

A true story: One of my co-workers lives on a farm in Virginia. His 78-year old father still has cattle and hogs (and they used to have 10,000 or so chickens, but that is another story). Anyway, his dad usually has lots of kinfolk available on critical days when certain things have to happen. But twice in the last five or six years they have been short-handed so Johnboy and a couple of other of us "city-slickers" (remember, please, that johnboy is at root a redneck) went out to help. A calf that doesn't want to get on a truck or a hog that doesn't want to cooperate with whatever we were doing can get pretty nasty. Johnboy had bruises to show from those experiences. So, yeah, I'd rather rake leaves and whatever pay you get this week, cowdoc, you deserve.

Put me down for all the home teams with the exception of San Francisco and Detroit.

Toss in 38 points for the Monday game.

A mere 15 minutes until the deadline. Still waiting on Panzade. El-diablo is missing from A2K since the hurricane. Probably no power or not at home. Same with jpinmilwaukee and bbaptiste: no posts on A2K for a goodly amount of time.. johnboy sighs.

That must be, Gus, re Panzade. So this week we are down to 10 players.
The Deviant of the Week award is really a non-issue this week. We are unanimous in our picking of five games. We are evenly divided in the picking of five others. Dragon is the only picker of Green Bay; Gus is alone in choosing Tennessee; and Liontamerx is the only player going for Philly. Seven of us have the NY Giants and three the Redskins.
So every Deviant is in single digits or at 0.

So end the early games, Cowdoc is at 7-1, as are Gus and Liiontamerx.
The rest of us are lagging behind.
I listed the Miami @ New Orleans game as being an early one based on the schedule I got from ESPN a couple of weeks ago. It is a 4 pm game played, I believe, in Baton Rouge. The a** who owns the Saints, by the way, seems quite eager to move the team elsewhere. The LA Saints, the Charlottesville (VA) Saints. All you need to do to get him to bring the team to your town is build him a $100 million stadium.

BTW, I did get a pm from pan at about 2 pm, apologizing for not playing this week. He mentioned and then mentioned again that some scantily clad coeds from the nearby college came into his neighborhood to help move debris and he felt obligated to watch over them closely. He will be back next week.

"scantily clad coeds" is certainly a valid excuse...

At 10-3 are Cowdoc, Gus and Liontamerx. Everyone chose Pittsburgh tonight so it will come down to the tiebreaker. Cowdoc and Gus both picked 38 points; Liotamerx took 39.

Week 8: Liontamerx wins based on the tiebreaker. Lion, Cowdoc and Gus had finished the game-picking at 11-3. Well done! Through eight weeks we have had six different winners. Week 9 belongs to Johnboy.

At 10-4 were Region, Ray, Fbaezer and George. At 9-5 were Johnboy and Child "I'm good at this" Of Light. Dragon stumbled in at 8-6.

Panzade took the week off which allowed others to tighten the Cumulative Wins Minus Losses tally. Through Week 8, Gus is at 34 while Panzade stayed at 33. Cowdoc (who started out after Week 1 at -6) quietly rakes in the points: now at 30. Child "I am good at this" Of Light is at 26. At 22 are Region, Johnboy and Liontamerx. George is at 14; Dragon at 12 and El-diablo at 10. In single digits are Fbaezer at 6 and Ray at 2.
I fear we have lost Bbaptiste at 7 and Jpinmilw at 0. No responses to my pms.
As a group we had a fine week and had not Wilma kept away Pan and El-Diablo it probably would have been our best week of the season.
One of the "experts" on ESPN also finished at 11-3; a couple came in at 10-4 and most of the rest were at 9-5. And they get paid to cover the NFL!
