damn, Ray had the same selections as Johnboy was planning to post. There is nothing wrong with great minds running in the same gutter, but
I changed one game I was ambivalent about:

Carolina
Jacksonville
Cincinnati (although Balt plays well when there is as an * )
Atlanta
Detroit
San Diego
Tennessee
Oakland
Chicago
Seattle
NY Giants
Pittsburgh
Washington
Indianapolis (46)

I pondered hard about picking New England. Is Indy for real? How will they perform once they get out of their domed stadium? If this game was a month later when they have to play outside...
Anyway, that is how Week 9 will turn out. But yall are still welcome to submit.

Carolina-TB will start to fade
Jax-I love this team, I pick them every week
Cincy-Chad Johnson is amazing
Miami-I can't remember the last Falcon game, rusty.
Minnesota-Joey Harrington is really bad
San Diego-NY Jets are the worst
Tenn-McNair is better than anything Cleveland has
KC-Beast of a team
Chicago-That D will feast on Brooks
Seattle-Best in NFC
Giants-Niners have Cody Pickett at QB
Green Bay-Yep, that's right
Philly-Washington will fade
Indy(62)-That is right, it is their year

Thank yall who are inclined to pick early for, um, picking early.
I am pleased to report that el-diablo checked in on another thread, reporting that he just got power back on after 10 days. He seemed pretty sane; johnboy would not be. I hope he will be joining us after he catches up with other stuff.

Sometimes I feel like I am herding kittens. I get jpinmilw back in line, but than both panzade and gus wander off. Neither picked this week.
So be it. Some of the other players who are not too far behind them in the Cumulative Wins Minus Losses can do some serious gaining this week.
If they pick right.
In the Deviant of the Week segment, Liontamerx is at (1), Johnboy (4), Dragon (6), Ray (7), Jpinmilw (9) and Cowdoc (10). A little further out are El-diablo ((14) and Fbaezer (16). And then, and then I say, are George (20), Region (21) and Child of Light all the way out at (27)..

The first games will be over shortly. I don't watch tv much so I have no idea how things are going but I'll let yall know where we stand.

For what it's worth, I think I wound up at 11-3. How about everybody else? If memory serves me right, I think other people did better than that.

I missed doing the Monday update prior to the NE-Indy game. Sorry. So for Week 9, most of us did quite well. It probably isn't quite fair to single out Region for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...but his pick of NE hurt him badly.
Region, Jpinmilw and Liontamerx each finished at 12-2 and JPinmilw went for the tiebreaker to be a high scorong game. His pick of 52 was closest so he is this week's winner. JPinmilw didn't play for two weeks, but he is back and bad. Well done. Our 7th different winner in 9 weeks.
A bunch of us came in at 11-3. A bunch: Dragon, Johnboy, Fbaezer, Cowdoc, and El-diablo. Dragon and Fbaezer each had 61 in the tie-breaker. Unfortunately, they were a game short in the win column.
Child of Light and Ray finished at 10-4 and George was at 9-5.
Most of the ESPN experts also finished at 12-2.
Panzade and Gus sat out in this week that saw many of us with some impressive wins minus losses scores. For the year-to-date:
Cowdoc (38); Gus (34); Panzade (33); Child of Light, Region and Liontamerx (32) and Johnboy (30). Then there a bit of a gap before we find Dragon (20); El-diablo and George (18); Fbaezer (14); JPinmilw (10) and Ray (8).
Even without Panzade and Gus it was, as a group, our best week of the season. Either we are getting smarter or it was easy picking in Week 9.

Week 10 coming up shortly here. I hope Gus and Panzade will be back

now might be a good time to re-think my "27 points" rule...

I thought about commenting on your 27-point tiebreaker thing in my post above, Region. But when I was doing my research on Week 10, I was impressed with the number of low-scoring games there were in Week 9. Could it be an NFL/TV conspiracy to schedule potentially high-scoring games for Monday night? And is the now contrite Terrell Owens ever going to fly with the Eagles again?
