Heh, the answer to that is obvious, aint it? They knew better than to try to pretend this trash was true. That's why they were trying to induce some sleazy rag like, let's say "Buzzfeed," to publish it and give it an air of legitimacy. They couldn't even persuade their homeys at CNN to ruin their reputation by publishing it, which tells you just how worthless it really was.
It was out and out libel, courtesy of their russian accomplices, and no more. They knew that. Apparently you don't.
