I wish you would quit acting like Wednesday capitol riot was a regular peaceful protest outside the capitol building which is protected in the first amendment.

I did not say that the peaceful protesters stayed outside the building. I fully acknowledge that they stormed the building.

They was in areas they were not supposed to be in and breached the building, ran riot in capitol buildings, creating mayhem and death in their wake. All of which is illegal.

The ones who assaulted or murdered police officers should be prosecuted for their crimes.

But most of these people did nothing to harm police officers and were just peaceful protesters.

Advocating to overturn democratically run elections by force is illegal as well.

They were protesting Joe Biden's theft of the election.

Perhaps Mr. Biden and his VP whore could step down instead in order to help the country heal.

That doesn't make any sense, as Trump was President when the riots occurred, and was the one who encouraged the rioters.

Joe Biden is illegitimate and the American people are not going to accept him or his VP whore.

The nation will not begin to heal until they both step down and allow democracy to go forward again.

Kent State was against peaceful protesters, these people assaulted the capitol. They didn’t stand outside singing songs and waving placards, they used violence.

Only a few people caused harm to police officers (and they should be prosecuted for it). The rest were indeed peaceful protesters who were only rejecting Joe Biden and his illegitimate presidency.

Trump tried tweeting from the official POTUS account despite Twitter's ban, but the tweets were immediately removed

Quote:
Just hours after Twitter permanently suspended Donald Trump's personal account on Friday, the president began tweeting from the official account, @POTUS.

Almost immediately, Twitter removed the series of tweets, in which Trump railed against the tech company, Democrats, what he referred to as the "radical left," and Section 230, a law that gives internet companies the right to police their platforms as they see fit.

Twitter also said it's limiting the use of @POTUS or @WhiteHouse — both official accounts operated by the US government — and that it isn't currently planning to suspend them, but that it may do so in the future "if it was really needed to alleviate harm," according to CBS News' Musadiq Bidar.

His campaign account @TeamTrump was also suspended after an attempt to send out a message from the president — a tweet that was deleted.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said today she has spoken to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff about preventing President Donald Trump from initiating military actions or a nuclear strike.

Neither has any power to prevent that.

However, this brings up a point I've already made a few times. We can't trust Joe Biden to defend the nation if we fall under nuclear attack.

Therefore it would be a good idea to secretly give the Air Force control over the ICBMs so they can disregard Joe Biden and fight a nuclear war on behalf of the nation without his permission.

They lack the power to do any such thing.

But like I said in my reply to Walter, this shows that we can't trust Joe Biden to defend the nation if we fall under nuclear attack.

@oralloy,
It is odd you keep referring Biden as progressive, seeing as there were plenty of progressive politicians with more far left positions during the Democratic Primaries: Sanders, Warren, Yang.

If anything, Biden is a moderate. He has shown to he hesitant in supporting more liberal stands in certain policies.

He still cannot be trusted to defend the nation if we fall under nuclear attack.

The Air Force should be secretly given control over the ICBMs so they can disregard him if we find ourselves in a nuclear war.

@oralloy,
The Democrats agree with you

Facebook, Twitter could face punishing regulation for their role in U.S. Capitol riot, Democrats say

Quote:
Facebook, Google and Twitter are staring down the prospect of harsh new regulations in Washington, as politically ascendant Democrats in Congress pledge to take fresh aim at Silicon Valley for its role in stoking the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol this week.

The violent mob that stormed the House and Senate, leaving the two chambers in lockdown, has emboldened party lawmakers who say that social media sites failed to heed their repeated warnings — and then did too little, too late, in response to President Trump and his incendiary online rhetoric. Trump on Friday resumed tweeting, praising his supporters as “great American patriots" and pledging they would not be “disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

In the months to come, some Democrats now are promising to use their powerful new perches — and their control of the White House and Congress starting in a matter of days — to proffer the sort of tough new laws and other punishments that tech giants have successfully fended off for years. Their seething anger could result in major repercussions for the industry, opening the door for a wide array of policy changes that could hold Facebook, Google and Twitter newly liable for their missteps.

“They bear major responsibility for ignoring repeated red flags and demands for fixes,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), who stands to play a key role leading a tech-focused congressional panel in the coming months. The lawmaker faulted Facebook, Google and Twitter for failing to act as the riots unfolded “until well after there was blood and glass in the halls of the Capitol.”

“They have done enduring damage to their own credibility,” Blumenthal added in an interview, “and these events will renew and refocus the need for Congress to reform big tech.”
----
Even before Trump’s supporters arrived in Washington, many Democratic lawmakers had turned a critical eye to the power and reach of some of the Web’s most popular platforms. In recent years, party lawmakers have called for a bevy of new social media regulations, targeting everything from the tech industry’s data collection practices to the way it moderates content across the Web.

A 16-month investigation into Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google led House lawmakers to conclude this fall that the four tech giants posed major antitrust concerns — and prompted Democrats to call on Congress to adopt sweeping changes that would empower the U.S. government to bring more aggressive cases. Others have trained their sights on more specific portions of law, such as Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which spares a wide array of digital services from being held liable for the content posted by their users.

Actually, these orgs are in clear breach of the First Amendment, and for the DNC to be applauding their actions, makes the party complicit in criminal activity, in what amounts to fascism.
