@blatham,
well, Biden can do whaat several others (mostly GOP) pres have done. "Veto anything thats not bipartisan"
"holding the Senate is a bit different from having your way.

The GOP is not interested in fair distribution of power, theyve demonstrated that clearly, so we may become a pre civil war country again. As history plays out, weve gone through a "Buchanan like clown"

@farmerman,
Anything that passes both a Democratic House and a Republican Senate is likely to be bipartisan.

It is reasonable for people to try to prevent the Democrats from cheating again.

The guys who claim "cheating" are usually the ones skilled at the art of the cheat. Ever think about how Trump, from day one tries to avert us from seeing that hes the one whos the cheat. Look at him now.
The only thing hes not done is jailed and killed those who disagree with his unconstitutional means

@farmerman,
The Democrats are the ones who try to cheat. Remember Al Gore in 2000?

Apparently much btter than you. Voter surpression , mishandling ballots, missing ballots (all in Florida) finally a scammish USSC vote and it was obvious to me the word "rigging in the corner" by te GOP comes to mind.

Gore won the popular vote,(another time winner takes all sends the decision to one or two states)

@farmerman,
Preventing Democrats from cheating is hardly voter suppression.

The Republicans were not responsible for Florida's ballot incompetence.

All the Supreme Court did was shut Al Gore down when his rampant cheating started to cause a constitutional crisis.

"W have to prevent" A" from cheating so we "B" will cheat to do so".

Its so easy to get in your head, everything you do involves exculpating your party's actions by cheating. Are you related toMr Norquist?

@farmerman,
Preventing Democrats from cheating is not cheating.

I nether cheat nor exculpate the misdeeds of the Democratic Party.

@oralloy,
I’m pleased thinking about the thoughts in your head should Biden win.

Also thinking of your prediction of 25 year Presidential Republican rule.

The map favors Biden at this point, but we will see what happens the rest of this week.

@maporsche,
I'm glad you like my ideas about how to deal with a hypothetical Biden Administration.

Not to toot my own horn, but I do come up with pretty good ideas.

According to USAToday, now Biden 238 vs. Trump 213.

But Biden leads in three states in which voting and counting is still in progress: Wisconsin (EV: 10), Michigan (EV: 16) and Nevada (EV:6). With the 32 EVs, Biden will reach 270 for the presidency.

The biggest watch is at Penncylvania, in which mail-in ballots will take days to complete counting and we know mail-in ballots favor Biden. Surely Trump will challenge that. If Biden takes back the blue wall state, he will swear in on Jan.20.

Not voting, just counting.

I wish they'd hurry up with the counting. I'd like to get the final results.

Under normal circumstances, that is possibly viable. But in a collapsed economy and raging pandemic and a robust and widespread GOP propaganda network, the downsides will fall to the Biden administration.

Even with everything that has gone on, the GOP has
- maintained its no-nothing, constantly aggrieved base
- encouraged and directed that base to increasingly behave as a brownshirt force
- built a 6-3 SC majority of deeply radical members that will last a generation and which will continue to come down with rulings which will further heave America further in the direction of oligarchical rule and marginalization of citizen democracy

And what is to stop this? The modern information ecosystem obviously has not done so. Republican moderates have been almost entirely been shunted aside and the level of ethics of those who remain is comparable now to those in any broken and corrupted authoritarian state.

I think America is fucked. I think this was the last chance of saving it.

When I began this thread, like many others, I knew things were going to get bad after Trump's win four years ago. But what has transpired even my cynicism was insufficient to imagine.

You're acting like a progressive. It makes you look silly.

The notion that "people who think differently from you" = "doom and annihilation" is goofy nonsense.

Wisconsin has been fully counted.

Unfortunately this news does not come with an announcement of the official result of said count.

But maybe really soon?

If Trump makes good on his "Court Challenges" remember the responsibility to "Proove" that voter fraud has occured by only the DEMS (or has occured at all), is his. The defense of his wild eyed accusations are like Ollies beliefs' , Baseless opinion delivered with clueless assertions.
