In any case, the point is that America’s defeat at the hands of the coronavirus didn’t happen because victory was impossible. Nor was it because we as a nation were incapable of responding. No, we lost because Trump and those around him decided that it was in their political interests to let the virus run wild.

Adding to that what Fuchs said (see my quote above):
Quote:
The president can’t be troubled to do what’s necessary to protect the American people.

That's pretty-much where you lost me, Holmes.

In a desperate manouver to avert the destruction promised by the former SoS to her Saudi donors, the electoral college awarded the trophy to her proposed opponent, who she facilitated into the candidacy, thinking it would assure her ascendancy.

Try and keep up with current events, Snood.

Yeah, it all started while the DNC was again trying to prevent disclosure of their chronically corrupt last session in power.

The article is referring to the covid-19 pandemic and the Trump administration and if you're so concerned about corruption you might want to investigate the tangled web of lobbying, campaign contributions, and dark money which engulfs the current party in power.

The impeachment to end all impeachments, was, and still is, their only public effort visible.

Pelosi's House has delivered over a hundred pieces of legislation to the Senate. The reason they're not "visible" is that Republican Sen. McConnell won't bring them to the floor.

Fox News apologises for cropping Trump out of Epstein and Maxwell photo
Quote:
Network says it mistakenly eliminated Donald Trump from photo with Maxwell and Epstein at Mar-a-Lago in February 2000

Fox News has apologised for cropping Donald Trump out of a picture of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
[...]
The full picture used by Fox News on Sunday – and widely elsewhere – shows Maxwell and Epstein with Donald Trump and his wife Melania (then his girlfriend) at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in February 2000.

In a statement about its interview with an attorney representing victims of Epstein, Fox News said: “On Sunday, 5 July, a report on Ghislaine Maxwell during Fox News Channel’s America’s News HQ mistakenly eliminated President Donald Trump from a photo alongside then Melania Knauss, Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell.”

“We regret the error.”
[...]
Fox News’ decision to crop Trump out of an Epstein picture – and subsequent expression of regret – echoed a decision by Trump’s son Eric Trump to tweet a picture of Maxwell attending Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.

“Birds of a feather,” Eric Trump wrote, accompanying a picture of Maxwell watching former president Clinton walk his daughter up the aisle.

After many observers pointed to numerous pictures and videos of Eric Trump’s father with Epstein, the tweet was deleted.

Observers also shared a New Yorker profile of Donald Trump from 1997, which described Maxwell “bumming a ride” to Mar-a-Lago on Trump’s private plane, on which Eric Trump, then 13, was also a passenger.

“Eric Trump, who tweeted earlier about Bill Clinton and Ghislaine Maxwell, was literally himself on his dad’s private jet with her,” wrote the journalist Mehdi Hasan. “FFS. You cannot make this stuff up.”

@hightor,
So, not a single liberal has COVID-19, right? They have all done the opposite of what Trump said and wore their masks and did the social distancing, right?

I mean why would they listen to such bad leadership?

Not sure what your issue is ig only conservatives are getting sick. Seems right in your wheel house.

I guess you're trying to be witty or something but I fail to get your point. Where did Krugman suggest that the disease only infects conservatives?

No one believes that. Your post doesn't make any sense.

You should hang yourself in shame for that pathetic attempt at a post, young fella.

You've presented no information to confirm your bias.

Not now, nor never. Go back to counting stars.

I thought it was a good post...and worthy of a re-post.

@snood,
As shameful as it is, the NASCAR thing from Trump is another gimmick. It's all he's got. If he don't promote some kind of hate, he has nothing at all. He is showing signs of desperation.

@revelette1,
From The Guardian:
Trump wanted to 'Kaepernick' Bubba Wallace. Instead he made him too big to fail

Quote:
The president’s baseless attack on Nascar’s only Black driver strengthened the athlete rather than weaken him
[...]
That Trump is two weeks behind this news might have been taken as an encouraging sign – of restraint or better still, focus – if the president weren’t coming off a weekend spent sowing division and dog whistling to his base in a fevered effort to bridge a double-digit gap in the polls for this November’s election. Trump’s willingness to take aim at Nascar, however, is an interesting new wrinkle in the political right’s time honored Southern Strategy. If this indeed proves to be the final act of the Trump presidency, history may well recognize this as the first subplot to come full circle and foreshadow the end.
[...]
Clearly, Trump was just kicking up yet another distraction from the very real existential crises he gives passing consideration to between his all-too-frequent tee times. But in the end, well, it backfired. Not only does there figure to be even more scrutiny on Nascar going forward, but also greater pressure on the sport to stay on the correct side of history and do right by a driver who once wanted nothing more than to be just another guy on the grid. Despite the president’s best efforts to “Kaepernick” his career, all Trump did instead was mark this as the moment Wallace truly arrived.

Wallace isn’t just bigger than ever now. He’s too big to fail.

It wasn’t because of our culture, it was because of our leadership.

The leadership was delegated to the governors, where it belonged. The abysmal failures are in the Blue states. NY and NJ sent many, thousands, of senior citizens to almost certain death in overcrowded nursing homes, not Trump.

I am glad you think respecting and learning from our history is funny. The Left are no longer Americans they are comrades in a Marxist revolution. Trump is interested in uniting Americans, so guess who just does not count anymore.

@coldjoint,
Trump got less than half the vote. He has never done anything for the majority of people who didn't and don't like what he stood for and has done. He has never tried to unite the country. He's not trying to unite it now. That's why his approval rating is 36% and disa;pproval 60%. You're trying to tear us apart too. That's why Biden is going to be our next president.

How? By not backing the destruction of cities and monuments? By believing we are not a racist nation but a nation with a corrupt media and Communists that say they are Democrats?
Quote:
He has never done anything for the majority of people

His tax cuts put more money in the pockets of 85% of the people. That is a majority.

Why do you think slavery and treason and the murder of hundreds of thousands of American soldiers are deserving of pride and respect?

@Walter Hinteler,
I kinda knew when McConnell came on said to wear a Mask that the tide was turning, knew for sure when Graham broke with Trump over the NASCAR/Wallace stuff.

A long way to go relative speaking, but right now, if I was Trump I would be desperate indeed.
