Ex-George W. Bush officials launch new group supporting Joe Biden

A group of former George W. Bush administration and campaign officials has launched a new super PAC
to mobilize disaffected Republican voters for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The group, launched Wednesday under the name "43 Alumni for Biden," "seeks to unite and mobilize a
community of historically Republican voters who are dismayed and disappointed by the damage done
to our nation by Donald Trump's presidency," according to a release. The formation of the group is the
latest example of efforts being made by anti-Trump Republicans to defeat the President in November.

@Builder,
treason? How? We paid for those things.I did a term project on Borglum and his stupid "art" ideas when I was in 5th grade and I posted then how his dumass statues ruined and our national wilderness. My argument was half assed I admit. I made an argument about GOD and his works cannot be improved by men.
I got an A because my controvesry was "On the right side of the Catholic Faith"

Haw Haw Haw Two dumbass opposing ideas should cancel each other

@farmerman,
I think MJ was referring to Stone Mountain...evidently Builder believes the USA and the CSA are the same.

On the topic of statue removal, I'd sure like to see that ugly "Christ the Redeemer" statue in Rio do Janeiro torn down.

And we should return the Statue of Liberty to France.

@hightor,
Borglum was already working on Stone Mountain when he was called to do Mt Rushmore originally but was replaced and his Confederate bas relief statues were blasted off and redone.
The Nat Park Service and Congress turned Rushmore into another "Amuusement Park Commission" so defacement or removal of both are not subject to "treasonous acts" (IMHO). Theyd just be charged with vandalism of a public building.
Ill bet Teddy Roosevelt woulda been pissed if he knew he was gonna be part of a national defacing

Im also against the Crazy Horse Statue and any other "mega Petroglyph we try to install"

@farmerman,
Ah, I didn't know that, farmerman — a few searches and I've learned the sordid history the guy who, were he with us today, would be sporting a MAGA hat for sure.

From the "It's humour, but.." archives.

Kanye West could shoot Donald Trump in the middle of Fifth Avenue and I'd still vote for Joe Biden.

What’s the matter with the Crazy Horse Monument? ( I haven’t done any research)

@snood,
This is good enough for me:

Quote:
Other traditional Lakota oppose the memorial. In his 1972 autobiography, John Fire Lame Deer, a Lakota medicine man, said: "The whole idea of making a beautiful wild mountain into a statue of him is a pollution of the landscape. It is against the spirit of Crazy Horse." In a 2001 interview, Lakota activist Russell Means said: "Imagine going to the holy land in Israel, whether you're a Christian or a Jew or a Muslim, and start carving up the mountain of Zion. It's an insult to our entire being. It's bad enough getting four white faces carved in up there, the shrine of hypocrisy."

@hightor,
exactly. I dont care for any of the defacing petroglyphs that supposedly celebrate some twisted values of our various heritages. Native Americans and Teddy Roosevelt would surely be against this need to deface.

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes GP and most others of the F1 drivers took a knee on the grid in support of the Black Lives Matter movement ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg.

"Symbols of hate" as Trump calls such.

@Walter Hinteler,
Lewis Hamilton said that those who weren’t kneeling didn’t understand racism, even though some of those standing are wearing T shirts that say end racism.

@lmur,
I can see why some are hyping Kayne West, IMO they aren't really hankering for Kayne West, they are wanting to put in an alternative to the republicans out there who are disgusted at Trump and might go for Biden. Kayne West would just give them another republican to go for while taking away potential Biden voters.

Trump wants to think of himself as a strongman. He idolizes strongmen...dictators, because he aspires to be one.

It is beyond comprehension that anyone still supports him.

It is beyond reason that anyone still supports him...and supposes doing so is in furtherance of freedom and the ideals of America.
