When Will We Stand Up To The Tyrants Of Woke Conformity?

Probably have to wait until November. The message will be very clear.

Quote:
Got that? Those who hold different views are “deranged.” They’re criminals. Dangerous. They shouldn’t be allowed to hold jobs where they might have some influence over others. They need to be forced into hard labor (“menial work”) and sent to re-education camps, where they will be brainwashed (“therapy”) to ensure they will engage only in Orwellian goodthink.

It’s not just conservatives who are being canceled, either. Some on the left are also being driven from their jobs and their former lives of status and privilege for not being sufficiently extreme.

The purge should have never been allowed to come this far. But the elitists who control universities, school boards, corporations, the media, sports leagues, have surrendered rather than stand on principle, as have a good number of high-profile individuals.

Is there not one provost or school president or dean in higher education, one public school superintendent, one corporate CEO, one publisher or editor who will resist? Who will say that expressing thoughts that challenge the narrative is not grounds for banishment and dismissal? Who will say that no apology is needed for speaking freely? Will anyone lift their head above the crowd and say “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”?

The Twitter storm printed above is no anomaly. It’s an increasingly common form of bullying, one that goes to the very heart of what defines us as a free nation. A society in which only pre-approved speech can be uttered is not healthy. It’s a tyranny, rancid and terror-filled. The only choice is to resist.

Killing and banishment are only ok if youre a Trumpie ??
I need to be refreshed cause I keep forgetting where you guys draw your lines of logic.
Assholes are assholes, whether its some liberal op ed or whether its two DB's on a chat line who try their darndest to convince people that the ppresent president actually gives a **** about this country and its citizens.

@farmerman,
The difference is:

You want to destroy people for disagreeing with you.

I don't want to destroy people for disagreeing with me.

I merely want to prevent you from destroying people for disagreeing with you.

For starters they are not supporting rioters and bullies who are breaking our laws. We are not bitching about what someone wears or how he may think. We are not promoting group think and punishing thought crimes. We also do not divide and hate.

@farmerman,
You do know that when you say Ollie, I immediately think of that French guy who says he now lives in Italy. Don't know why I do that when it's clear who you really mean.

Trump Appointee Takes Over at VOA; Two Top Staffers Immediately Quit

Quote:
Within days of Michael Pack taking over as head of the Voice of America (VOA), both VOA’s director and deputy director quit. They knew Pack wouldn’t countenance their liberal-left and often anti-American viewpoints going out to hundreds of millions in foreign countries, using its perception as pro-America and a reliable source of information on important issues to sway people leftward.

@glitterbag,
The action by Michael Pack confirms fears that Trump wanted to turn the US Agency for Global Media into a loyal state broadcaster of the kind normally only found in authoritarian societies.

What action? Those guys quit. It sounds like we did not need them. Maybe they can get a job at CNN.

Pack, a conservative film-maker and ally of right-wing ideologue Stephen Bannon, fired the heads of Middle East Broadcasting, Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and the Open Technology Fund .

@Walter Hinteler,
It's frightening. Americans think of themselves as freedom lovers but we have allowed authoritarians Carte Blanche . It's not healthy because they will refuse to allow others Carte Blanche. So many people have lost their lives to keep us safe, it's hard to watch the ingrates piss all over the memories of those lost lives. And to add insult to injury, they are worried about statues of Confederate traitors who were defeated in their attempt to destroy this country. It is freaking mind blowing.

Just so we understand your frame of reference here: Do you think Biden cheated to win the nomination over Bernie? Serious question.

I don’t know if this will mean much to anyone over there but Vera Lynn has died at the grand age of 103.

She was the British forces sweetheart during WW2 with hits like ‘We’ll meet again.’

To be honest I was surprised to hear her making statements on the 75 th anniversary of VE day thinking she must have died long ago, but no. She made it to 103.

On an iPad and can’t post links

Bolton's bombshell book shows it's still possible to be shocked by Trump's presidency

Quote:
The conventional Washington wisdom before Wednesday afternoon was that it was hard to imagine anything that would still have the capacity to shock us about Donald Trump and his presidency.

Then John Bolton’s memoir leaked, with recollections of his time as national security adviser that appeared to have gone beyond parody and just kept travelling.
