@coldjoint,
Wasn't it you who maintained coved19 was like seasonal flu? Seasonal flu mortality rate is widely sadid to be about 0.1%. back of the envelope calculation puts coved19 at between 5 and 6%. That means it's at least 50 rimes as lethal as the flu. Tsimilar.all thhat's not relly

The numbers are not in yet, you need to pay attention. If you remember Fauci said the same thing. Plus a shitload of leftist talking heads on CNN.

Covid-19: Not Nearly As Dangerous As You Think

We have been had.
Quote:
Probability of Dying from Covid-19 in the U.S.

The number of deaths from the virus in the US is 50,988. The probability of dying from the virus in the U.S., therefore, is equal to the number of deaths divided by the U.S. population: 50,988/329,064,917 = 0.00015 = 0.015% = 1.5 chances out of 10,000 -- a very, very low probability.

For comparison, 61,099 Americans died of the ordinary flu two seasons ago. That means that the chance of dying from the ordinary flu was 1.9 out of 10,000, which is higher than the Covid-19 death rate.

Furthermore, when you take into account that most of the deaths from Covid-19 were of older people with underlying medical issues, the chance of younger (under 55), healthy individuals dying from the virus is much, much lower -- probably 1.5 chances out of 100,000.

When the numbers are not manipulated it is a much different story.
Quote:
Probability of Dying from Covid-19 in Sweden.

Sweden has had 2,152 deaths out of a population of 10.12 million, so the probability of dying from the virus in Sweden is about 0.02% = 2 chances out of 10,000; very low and not much different than the US death rate.

Sweden was never locked down.

@coldjoint,
Of course the numbers aren't final, considering the epidemic is still raging in the States, new cases and new deaths in large numbers are being reported every day. And it's proably gonna spike when all those beach bunnies who couldn't wait to start working on their tans start to fall sick. But we do have enough cases and enough outcomes to get an idea of its lethality, and it's far in excess of the seasonal flu.

Yeah, commitment. That’s what it is.

Of course.

@coldjoint,
Ypour calculation would only be valid if 100% of the total population died every year, which of course it doesn't. calculation of deaths from CV to number of cases of CV is more meaninglu as compared to seasonal flu.

So I've learnt today that "Beijing Biden, aka "Sleepy Joe" is both a comrade of "Crazy Bernie" and an establishment creature of Washington, whose cosiness with China and long history of verbal stumbles make him unfit for the presidency. So you'll have just one choice: the current and hardest working President in history again.

@Builder,
Well,no. There's steely determination to vote him out so heavily that the electoral college won't be able to foist him on us again. His stupid briefings and the collapse of "his" economy, which was his one strong suit, even though he got it from Obama, won't help him this time around.

Here's a covid treatment that, if it works, will present a serious dilemma for the classic right wing American man.

Can Estrogen and Other Sex Hormones Help Men Survive Covid-19?
Men are more likely than women to die of the coronavirus, so scientists are treating them with something women have more of: female sex hormones.

The following was written in july 2016 and it is the best writing I've yet discovered on Trump's sociopathological nature. Read it.
