President Trump tweets a video of a Radio Free Europe interview with then-National Security Adviser John Bolton describing President Trump's call with Ukraine President Zelensky as cordial.

"I will be meeting President Zelensky. He and President Trump have already spoken twice. The president called to congratulate President Zelensky on his election and on his success in the parliamentary election," Bolton said in August 2019.

"They were very warm and cordial calls," Bolton said. "We’re hoping they’ll be able to meet in Warsaw for a few minutes together, because the success of Ukraine, maintaining its free, its system of representative government, a free-market economy, a free of corruption, and dealing with the problems of the Danbass in the Crimea are high priorities here, obviously, but high priorities for the United States, as well."

Why do \conservatives keep lying about progressives hating America when conservatives are the ones who truly hate America ?

@MontereyJack,
Progressives are the ones who keep trying to violate America's civil liberties for fun.

Conservatives are the ones who keep protecting America's civil liberties.

@MontereyJack,
I personally think going down the road of accusing others of being unpatriotic when people have a different viewpoint is just mudslinging. We don't need to get down into the mud with republicans who have been doing that for years.

Right now Republicans in Congress are putting their careers, reputation, and partisanship ahead of the facts and acting in accordance with those basic facts. Democrats have shown enough evidence right now, even discounting Bolton probable testimony, to impeach and remove any other president at another time. Those are the facts. Trump should be removed, but he won't be. Even if he were removed, we would be stuck with Pence who is worse than Trump because he is so hawkish and religious combined he would make horrible policies. He would probably carry out all the same conservative Trump has and add more, both foreign and domestic.

But it is a matter of doing right. Trump abused his office for his own personal political gain by pressuring a foreign country to interfere in our elections. Moreover, he obstructed the House's constitutional duties by refusing to provide documents and complying with subpoenas. Whether the Senate removes Trump or not, the House was right in impeaching him.

@oralloy,
That statement of yours has grown so old no one responds to it anymore. Those who believe in gun safety are trying to instill some common sense in our gun laws. We are not taking anyone's civil liberties away for fun or any other reason. We are trying to make sensible gun laws in order to try and prevent more tragic deaths by guns.

I know your arguments, I am not going to respond. I am just tired of that false often-repeated statement of yours.

@McGentrix,
Of course he's not going to say that there was anything suspicious, unusual, or improper while he's serving in the president's cabinet. This only shows that Bolton acted properly when representing the Trump administration, behaving like a diplomat and keeping his personal opinions to himself.

Respond to facts or not, they remain facts either way.

revelette3 wrote:

Trying to outlaw pistol grips on semi-auto rifles has nothing to do with gun safety.

It never fails that people who oppose civil liberties or support fascism always invoke "common sense".

revelette3 wrote:

Wrong. When you impose gun restrictions that cannot be justified as serving a compelling government interest, that violates people's civil liberties.

revelette3 wrote:

Trying to outlaw pistol grips on semi-auto rifles has nothing to do with trying to prevent any deaths.

It never fails that people who oppose civil liberties or support fascism always use terms like "sensible".

revelette3 wrote:

You really have no response to give other than to deny reality and invoke fascist buzzwords.

revelette3 wrote:

Progressives always find facts to be highly inconvenient. But no, facts are not false.

@revelette3,
revelette3 wrote:

That is incorrect. It is a fact that Mr. Trump has not done anything wrong.

revelette3 wrote:

That is incorrect. Presidents should not be removed from office for merely disagreeing with Democrats.

And as far as "any other president" goes, it was proved that Bill Clinton was guilty of perjury, witness tampering, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape.

Somehow the Democrats forgot to remove Bill Clinton from office.

revelette3 wrote:
Trump should be removed, but he won't be.

Again, presidents should not be removed from office for merely disagreeing with Democrats.

revelette3 wrote:
But it is a matter of doing right.

The right thing to do is reject the Democrats and their witch hunts against people who disagree with them.

revelette3 wrote:
Trump abused his office for his own personal political gain by pressuring a foreign country to interfere in our elections.

That is incorrect. He merely pressured them to investigate Democratic wrongdoing. That is far from an abuse of office.

revelette3 wrote:
Moreover, he obstructed the House's constitutional duties by refusing to provide documents and complying with subpoenas.

That isn't true. Mr. Trump has complied with every order that the courts have given him in this case.

revelette3 wrote:
Whether the Senate removes Trump or not, the House was right in impeaching him.

That is incorrect. It isn't right for Democrats to conduct witch hunts against people who disagree with them.

Allies of Donald Trump have begun holding events in black communities where organizers lavish praise on the president as they hand out tens of thousands of dollars to lucky attendees.

Trump Ally Held Event Handing Out Cash in a Black Community
Quote:
WASHINGTON — A nonprofit organization run by one of President Trump’s most prominent African-American allies recently held an event in a black community where it promoted Trump administration policies like criminal justice reform while doling out cash prizes to participants.

The event, a “Christmas Extravaganza” in Cleveland last month, was hosted by a charity group run by Darrell Scott, a longtime Trump surrogate who has also been advising his campaign. Organizers with the group, the Urban Revitalization Coalition, handed out thousands of dollars of cash stuffed in envelopes for an event it advertised as a “$25,000 Cash Giveaway.”

@Walter Hinteler,
It's going to be alright for you post Brexit.

Quote:
It won't be possible for some suspected criminals to be brought back to the UK if they flee to Germany.

Germany's constitution does not allow its citizens to be extradited, unless it's to another EU country.

"This exception cannot apply anymore after the UK has left EU," a spokesman from the German Federal Ministry of Justice told BBC News.

Quote:
Trump defense lawyer Alan Dershowitz pushed back Thursday against criticism of his remarks about the president’s actions, arguing that the media had “willfully distorted” his remarks.

“Taking advantage of the fact most of their viewers didn’t actually hear the senate Q and A, CNN, MSNBC and some other media willfully distorted my answers,” he said in a tweet.

That's rather funny given that, as was demonstrated earlier, CNN and MSNBC have carried about twice as much direct coverage of the trial as Fox has done.

Quote:
He added that members of the media had “characterized my argument as if I had said that if a president believes that his re-election was in the national interest, he can do anything. I said nothing like that, as anyone who actually heard what I said can attest.”

During Wednesday’s question-and-answer session, Dershowitz, a Harvard Law emeritus professor, had declared, “If a president does something which he believes will help him get elected in the public interest, that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment.”
WP

Try as I might, I cannot see a mischaracterization here. And of course, objections to Dershowitz's legal position has come not merely from news media but from constitutional and legal scholars as well.

He posts the same bloody cartoon over and over again. It's not just his vocabulary that's limited.

I don't regret putting him on ignore.
