Anyone who pisses over Corbyn like that is a fascist ****.

Okay, now that you've gotten that out of your system, why did Labour lose? Polls suggested that Corbyn was genuinely unpopular but let's say, for the sake of argument, that he would have made a great pm. Then people must have been rejecting the socialist policies he espoused if they weren't rejecting him personally. So I'll ask again; the votes weren't there. Why?

I read for myself on the BBC for one example that Corbyn was being heavily and routinely attacked as an anti-Semite. There seemed to be a non-stop chorus against him in the media. Not trying to drive anyone else’s answer.

@hightor,
Laura Kuenssberg is the head of politics at the supposedly impartial BBC. She's long been a supporter of the Tories, her annual salary is over a quarter million.

Of all the national newspapers only two support the people, the Mirror and the Guardian.

We were outspent enormously and lies were told about Corbyn when fact checked 88% of Tory claims were found to be untrue.

Then there's Brexit, Johnson was believed when he said he could get it done. Most Brexiteers are xenophobic and Johnson likes to celebrate his racism.

It will be a nightmare. We have to stop Trump's pawn giving him everything he wants. The NHS, chlorinated chicken unsafe American food and eventually our own sovereignty.

The struggle now is to stop ourselves being enslaved by America. No to the 51st State.

It will be very unpopular here for you, but I believe everything you said. The same things are happening here.

We are being enslaved by the billionaires and those they make millionaires including politicians and so-called journalists.

@Lash,
The anti Semitism stuck. What you have in an anti apartheid worker being demonised by someone who benefitted from apartheid. The head rabbi is from South Africa.

Jeremy Corbyn is a thoroughly decent person, and he would have taxed the **** out of billionaires and multinationals.

There's a clip of Jez reading out tweets criticising him. He reads out one that says he needs to know there's no money tree. His response is that there is a money tree, in the Cayman Islands!

The powers that be went into overdrive to keep him out.

My strong impression is that Mr. Corbyn drove himself and his Political party out of favor with British voters, many of whom were previously loyal Labor voters. I believe the election results across Britain amply confirm this point.

Contrary to the avowed beliefs of most Progressives, people and voters aren't stupid creatures in need of the guidance of self-appointed elites who would strip them of their freedom in pursuit of a government-managed (by them) authoritarian regime promising equality, while at the same time destroying the competitive factors that produce economic growth and prosperity.

@izzythepush,
Hey Ozzy. Here in the u s we are doing a little bit better than you. Only 87% of the media is controlled by the conservatives, about 80% controlled by billionaires, is lying bullshyt. So chances are that after the undereducated people like Fin, and lash are brainwashed by the media Trump will be reelected even though he is the crookedest bastard to have ever held the presidency. Our god believeing churches have quite a lot to do with an unethical crook like Trump being president. If the religions were really for the common man rather than the one with the most money they would be condemong our crooked politicians all of whom are bought by the very rich to do their bidding. Both parties are conservative. One is conservative, the other ultraconservative. A liberal is screwed in the u s because there is no liberal party.

I have been saying the same thing for quite a while. It carries more weight when you do. Thanks for posting it. I am looking forward to peoples replies to your post.

We need to protect the NHS from Trump.
It would certainly be prudent to think there may well be a real threat here. I'll give three examples.

When Bush Jr was in office, his ambassador to Canada was pushing the idea here that Canada ought to give more money to the defense of North America to counter the threats from Russia and its leader Putin (and isn't that just so quaint). The funds, he suggested, should be drawn from our national medical programs.

In New Zealand about 15 years ago, the government there was seriously considering legalizing the sale and use of marijuana. The US sent a trade team over and warned that if NZ did this, the US market for mutton would be severely restricted or punished.

Back in Canada, when the national government was putting plans in place for a long-gun registry, the NRA (inextricable from the GOP) put a lot of money and time into fighting this Canadian plan including sending Charlton Heston up to British Columbia (and perhaps elsewhere) to help preserve Canadians' "God-given right" to bear arms (a lot of theology majors in the NRA, clearly).

The American right has an influential species of radical ideologue who are eager to do damage to liberal ideas and institutions wherever those might be found. Because they might spread, like an infection, to God's Happy Home in America.

Has it occurred to you that you appear to , hypocritically, suffer from the same malady?

@blatham,
The NHS is already on the table.

We have a foreigner in Downing Street, an American whose first loyalty is to Trump and America.

In 200 years time we'll use Boris Johnson the same way Americans use Benedict Arnold.

Your interest (or lack of it) is a matter of indifference to me. I was merely commenting on your earlier comments in this pubic forum.

I did a career as a Naval Aviator, serving in several carrier fighter and attack squadrons, commanding one and later a Nimitz class aircraft carrier.

As I wrote earlier, I was merely responding to what you posted on this public forum. No effort there to engage you personally. You flatter yourself without reason.

@georgeob1,
Again, I'm not interested in the opinions of war criminals. If my response seems a bit anodyne it's because I don't read your posts, I just reply to them.

What part of I'm not interested in the opinions of war criminals don't you understand?

No wonder you lost the Vietnam War.
