@blatham,
Somewhere or another I heard or read that the sheer volume of Trump's offenses and now criminal behavior insolates him from harm.

Chris Hayes said that on some guy level, Trump thinks that his best defense is to convince everyone that EVERYTHING he does is just fine.
Yes. Something like that is clearly in play. To prove I did nothing wrong regarding seeking electoral help from the Ukraine and Russia, I'll do it again right now right here. How could it possibly be wrong if I do it again right out in the open?

But it is performance. It is what he believes he is a genius at. And he is hoping (and might believe) that this will somehow triumph over the legal issues.

Of course it doesn't. As these acts mount up in number and type, it just increases the chances that one or more criminal or impeachable acts will result in indictment. But in terms of news coverage and public perception, we've already seen how the cumulative effect of lie after lie and act after act can jade everyone or many at least.

@blatham,
The chutzpah is just amazing, and balances on a pins head. He has a rather small percentage of true believers - around 25%. As if those outer layers start peeling off of the other 75% of his support, it can become a domino effect and this imaginary pyramid he has built will come tumbling down. The corruption and lying of this government is unbelievable. There are people who had hopes of grandeur in the future have now dashed these possibilities forever!

Moments ago, Vice President Mike Pence defended President Trump pressing Ukraine's Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. "The American people have a right to know if the vice president of the United States, or his family, profited from his position."

There's a quote to remember.

President Trump is pushing to make criminal conduct and abuses of power not just acceptable but central planks of Republican party ideology. Republicans are acquiescing and embracing it.

Yes, indeed. And the underlying justification of all this is keeping power away from liberals. Any act is OK, even morally mandatory, if liberals are thwarted.

I have to have faith in the 30-35 GOP Senators who are anti Trump in quiet.....

Of course, when this Revolution is thwarted, Pence will squirm into a anti Trump position - somehow.

Trump says he is "looking at" creating a new state-run media organization, because outlets like CNN "hate your country."

My name is Joseph Stalin and let me tell you how much I approve this message.

Sturgis, this is my current nightly prayer. The good part, it is anti Trumpers talking to their brethren that have said this.

@BillW,
The thing that has my attention is Nixon got off completely free of his crimes and I see Trump not only doing the same thing but his whole family profiting from his illegal acts. If there was really justice for all u s citizens this crook and his family would spend time in jail. But as big name millionaires they won't spend so much as a day in jail.

@RABEL222,
Rebel, what you say is true with one caveat:

On September 8, 1974, President Gerald Ford granted Nixon (Ford is predecessor as president) a full and unconditional pardon for any crimes he might have committed against the United States while president.

But, people in power or, with money get special treatment under the law. If both moneyed and in power - then they get super special treatment.

Not much left (psychiatrically) to lose.

Anyways, not necessarily a sign of him snapping. It's just his usual plan to divert attention away from himself and his actions and get people to focus elsewhere.
