@Lash,
Bernie doesn't stand a chance, HRC crushed him & Cruz will do the same, but without cheating.

@Frugal1,
HRC had to cheat to beat him, though. Cruz will probably explode on contact.

Folks are. The response was immediate and vast. I can't remember seeing anything like this, actually. A damned good start.

I agree, I was very encouraged. Extraordinary weekend. (I did read a sad article about an Iraqi Vet. who was bringing his mother to a doctor here who couldn't come in despite having a green card and then she died in the hospital, look it up, it was terrible..) I am not sure what it will do, but, nevertheless, we need to keep it up on all levels with all causes, not the least of which is the supreme court pick, Trump picks for his nominees...the list is endless.

@Frugal1,
Dude. Bernie handed her her ass every time, although her cheating network of cronies and so- called journalists did manage to steal the nomination.

Being honest, correct, and quick on your feet is the necessary combination to walk away leaving your opponent's corpse crispy.

Cruz is already burning.

@Olivier5,
Quote:
There WAS an extraordinary popular movement that was set to defeat Trumpism: Bernie Sanders' candidacy for the dem nomination. You supported it, right?

It was extraordinary but focused too much angry energy towards the wrong target and basically was wrong on some points. I feel and still do feel, Bernie is not presidential material and Hillary was, Bernie was a darn sight better than Trump though and I would have voted had he won unlike some people who let Trump win. We do need the energy though and now it all doesn't matter. The democrats in office are virtually powerless to do anything, not enough dems in office to stop anything concrete other than make protest points. So we need the populism, which didn't include those outside of blue white working Americans in Bernie's populism, to form together to fight Trump.

Well, I got to go for a while (doctor labs...) so carry on. Might respond later unless too much else has already been said.

@revelette1,
HRC was NEVER presidential material.

America flat-out rejected Clinton & Sanders, they are losers - America wants winners.

@revelette1,

the supreme court pick,

The sort of jurist was predetermined by the Federalist Society (particularly) and Heritage.
Quote:
In another sense, the role of the Federalist Society is the natural culmination of a decadeslong evolution of judicial selection by Republican presidents, one that has made ideological credentials more central to the nomination process.

That evolution began with the Ronald Reagan presidency. The Federalist Society was founded in 1982 in order to advance conservative ideas in the legal academy and ultimately in the legal system as a whole. From 1985 to 1988, Reagan Attorney General Edwin Meese—an early supporter of the society—helped groom and credential young conservative lawyers by giving key positions in the Justice Department to early leaders of the society. Following a similar path, the George H.W. Bush administration gave responsibility for judicial selection in the White House Counsel’s office to Lee Liberman Otis, a founder of the society.

These folks are serious ideologues, well organized and with near bottomless funding. And to the vast majority of Americans, they are unknown and their hand in this unperceived. Their influence can be bested but it won't be easy.

@revelette1,
You chose the wrong candidate and lost to a racist, sexist and unpopular orang utang as a result of your (collective) blindness. Now it's too late. No amount of popular resistence will undo that. Try and learn from your mistakes. The corruption of the Dems mainstream IS A REAL PROBLEM. You ain't gona get any popular movement amounting to anything without first acknowledging the need for reform on the Dem side. The crowds that Bernie once mobilized can be mobilized again but not on a "defend the status quo" platform.
