@snood,
You're a very morally bankrupt person, aren't you?

@FreedomEyeLove,
A Trump follower calling someone morally bankrupt is like a skunk complaining about someone’s body odor.

It’s too easy to slap a label on (incrementalist, radical) and ‘otherize’ someone who could be an ally.

My whole point was that the value of Bernie Sanders as a champion of the regular folks is being missed by certain people on these essentialist sorts of ground: "he's not like us". Forget your collective alliegiances, forget the "isms" and you willbe able to see the value of the guy.

Point taken. Although I have never seen him as the fiery savior that some do, I’ve always given him credit for moving the whole discussion about what is possible towards more progressive goals. I have no problem seeing Bernie Sanders as an ally, and I will support him if he is the nominee. That said, I think some of his supporters are the biggest purveyors and perpetuators of creating division among democrats.

@Olivier5,
We're all grateful for his long service. I remember seeing clips of him years ago giving speeches to an empty chamber on C-span where he'd rip apart corporations and big banks. We all give him credit for staying on message. He kept the flame of democratic socialism burning through some very dark times.

That said, he's not the only person in the race who evinces concern for "regular folks" — which I suppose, means rank-and-file Democratic voters and left-leaning independents. I think we all see his value; we just don't all believe him to be the strongest candidate to head the party in 2020.

@hightor,
By such apparently confusing concepts as "regular folks" or "the people", I mean the 99% being played by the 1%. One could of course argue against this categorization as well but the point is that the concept goes beyond democratic and left-leaning. Most right-leaning people are also "regular folks" in my mind.

Modern conservatives love the constitution more than anything. Trust me on this.

And that's been quite obvious for three years. The behavior is justified ("others do it to Bernie") but as soon as such justifications are wielded, any claim to operating on principle is lost.

@blatham,
I don't think it's fair to judge people by what some of their supporters do. It's just another facile way to dismiss Sanders.

@Olivier5,
Damn man, do you work at missing the point or does it come naturally? No one has said they hold the dissembling against Sanders - it’s been clearly stated that we hold it against the supporters. It’s already been stated outright that Sanders isn’t being dismissed.

@snood,
Someone once compared Sanders to Christ. I quite like them both, but their followers are something else entirely.

The snooker championship has thrown up some weird headlines. I'm surprised Agent Orange isn't retweeting this one.

Wall Street kicked off the week with a sharp sell-off on Monday after President Donald Trump said that the U.S. will hike tariffs on goods imported from China, casting doubt on recent optimism that the world’s two largest economies were close to a resolution to their trade battle.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 363 points while the S&P 500 declined 1.3%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.6%. The S&P 500 was also on track to post its biggest one-day drop since March 22, when it fell 1.9%.

“A lot of people were caught long,” said Larry Benedict, founder of The Opportunistic Trader. But the reaction is actually “relatively under control considering it’s a pretty big headline.”

“I think [Trump] is trying to put pressure on China to make a move,” he said. Dow futures fell more than 500 points earlier in the day.
Shares of Apple and Caterpillar dropped more than 2% on fears of a trade war. Chipmakers were especially hard hit with Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices losing more than 3%.

@snood,
Stupidity is universal, and not confined to some Sanders supporters. Some Obama supporters were cretins too; and I suspect some of your supporters to be dirt stupid. So??? What's the point in bitching about such things?

@Olivier5,
My supporters? What the hell are you babbling about? I can’t tell if it’s intentional or not, but you’re just muddying the issue more and more.

Despite your false equivalency, I made a simple statement that I stand by: The people who are supposedly on the same side who are most stoking divisions among the democrats are supporters of Bernie Sanders. I don’t think anyone else even comes close.

And about why we would “bitch about” this, it’s relevant. Why do you “bitch about” what you “bitch about”?

I was writing about supporters, not Sanders. But on the other hand, we need to see any candidate working to police his/her supporters through, if nothing else, strong public statements expressing distaste for and disagreement with such behaviors. Thus he has a responsibility here.

You come across as very divisive yourself. E.g. you keep beating up on me and others for no good reason. Chill out. The beam in your eye etc.

@Olivier5,
I’m quite chill, thank you.
None of this has been personal, as far as I’m concerned. You keep trying to personalize things, remarking about how I “come across” or “come off”. I just react strongly to dumb **** you say. If you don’t like strong reactions, stop saying dumb ****.

Trump Scared to Let Robert Mueller Testify, Despite ‘Exoneration’
https://nym.ag/2H69N4n

Well, yes, he does seem scared of something. I'm guessing the reason he's scared is because he simply doesn't wish to have Mueller repeat again that Trump has been fully exonerated and is fully innocent of anything untoward or criminal. That might look like Trump is bragging and he really hates braggarts. So he'd rather Mueller stays silent now.
That must be it.
