Report Finds that Corbyn Aide, Milne, Has Ties to Hamas

The Labour Party is making antisemitism acceptable. I can see why Hamas would want to help them. The next PM could be one of these haters. Got to watch and learn how to avoid this because it is the same path our Democrats are already on.

David Ernest Duke (born July 1, 1950) is a prominent American racist, white supremacist, white nationalist politician, white separatist, antisemitic conspiracy theorist, Holocaust denier, convicted felon, and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
A former Republican Louisiana State Representative, Duke was a candidate in the Democratic presidential primaries in 1988 and the Republican presidential primaries in 1992. Duke also ran unsuccessfully for the Louisiana State Senate, United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and for Governor of Louisiana.
In 2002, Duke pled guilty to felony fraud. Specifically, he defrauded his political supporters by pretending to be in dire financial straits, and asking them for money to help him pay for basic necessities. At the time, Duke was financially secure, and he used his supporters' money for recreational gambling.[3] He subsequently served a 15-month sentence at Federal Correctional Institution, Big Spring in Texas.[4]
Duke speaks against what he alleges as Jewish control of the Federal Reserve Bank, the U.S. federal government, and the media. Duke supports the preservation of what he considers to be Western culture and traditionalist Christian family values, as well as abolition of the Internal Revenue Service, voluntary racial segregation, anti-communism, and white separatism.[5][6][7]

@Walter Hinteler,
Quote:
There is anecdotal evidence suggesting a connection between the rise of political populism and vaccine hesitancy.

That's the gist of your articles, Walter. Only a guess. No evidence as such.

And populism in politics is a direct result of being lied to repeatedly about issues like austerity, the reasons for invasions of sovereign nations, and the effectiveness of various vaccinations.

The MMR vax, for example, is so effective, you have to get booster shots. Natural immunity, on the other hand, lasts a lifetime.

When our politicians can't be trusted on the most basic of issues, you end up with people like Trump in power.

Clinton couldn't lie straight in bed, and was shown to be treating the people like children, time and again.

Trump was the only viable option to more of her lies and criminality.

There is a highly significant positive association between the percentage of people in a country who voted for populist parties and who believe that vaccines are not important (R = 0.7923, P = 0.007) and effective (R = 0.7222, P = 0.0035). The percentage of people who think vaccines are unsafe just misses being significant at the 5% level (R = 0.5027, P = 0.0669).

@Walter Hinteler,
A positive association is still not evidence, Walter.

Though the distrust factor is correlation, for mine.

When a govt actively spreads bullshit, passing it off as truth, their whole charade is called into doubt.

That's natural human distrust, right there, is it not?

@glitterbag,
That's very kind of you both to say that. It's not easy, yesterday was the hottest day in February since something or other and has broken all records.

I just don't have the time or energy to plumb the depths of such ignorance. Coldjoint actually believed he could upset me by slagging off Theresa May. How do you deal with someone that clueless.

As for Gungasnake's pyramids on Mars nonsense, this wasn't something he postulated about when the blurry photographic images first emerged. No, he waited until it had been conclusively proved that they were nothing more than rock formations before picking up the wrong end of the shitty stick and running with it. It's like he wants people to think he's really stupid.

Contrex didn't believe Gungasnake was real, he thought it was a false account set up by a leftwinger to discredit Republicans because he didn't think anyone could be that stupid.

In either case it's just not worth the energy. It used to be that you'd disagree over facts, now they don't even know what facts are, with Oralloy refusing to accept video evidence and sound recordings as a prime example.

They live in a fantasy world of fabrication, disinformation and downright bigotry. There's no point talking to them about anything, you'd get more sense out of your pet dog, he at least knows not to swallow a load of horseshit.

Back to the thread title.

Quote:
India says it launched air strikes against Kashmiri militants in Pakistani territory after a suicide bombing earlier this month that killed 46 Indian soldiers.

A top Indian minister said strikes targeted a training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group in Balakot.

Pakistan said it scrambled fighter planes in response.

The move represents an escalation of hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

It is the first air strike launched across the line of control - the border that divides India-administered Kashmir from Pakistan-administered Kashmir - since a war between the two countries in 1971.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale told a news conference that the strikes had killed a "large number" of militants, including commanders, and had avoided civilian casualties.

"Credible intel [intelligence] was received that JeM was planning more suicide attacks in India. In the face of imminent danger, a pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary," he said.

The latest incident follows the suicide attack on an Indian security convoy in Pulwama, in Indian-administered Kashmir, earlier this month.

Cardinal George Pell has been found guilty of sexual offences in Australia, making him the highest-ranking Catholic figure to receive such a conviction.

Pell abused two choir boys in the rooms of a Melbourne cathedral in 1996, a jury found. He had pleaded not guilty.

The verdict was handed down in December, but it could not be reported until now due to legal reasons.

Pell is due to face sentencing hearings from Wednesday. He has lodged an appeal against his conviction.

As Vatican treasurer, the 77-year-old Australian was one of the Church's most powerful officials.

His trial was heard twice last year because a first jury failed to reach a verdict.

A second jury unanimously convicted him of one charge of sexually penetrating a child under 16, and four counts of committing an indecent act on a child under 16.

A handful of recent NASA Mars rover images... Some of the objects seen in these images are quite large, half a mile to two or three miles from end to end. Judge for yourself whether these are natural formations as izzythep*** claims:

Argentina's Chief Rabbi has been taken to hospital after being beaten at his home in Buenos Aires.

Rabbi Gabriel Davidovich was attacked and his wife was reportedly tied up during a night-time break-in.

The attackers also stole money and other possessions, and reportedly told Mr Davidovich: "We know that you are the Amia Rabbi."

It comes just a day after seven Jewish graves were defaced with Nazi symbols in San Luis in western Argentina.

Mr Davidovich is being treated for several fractured ribs and a punctured lung, according to local press reports.

Police are treating the crime as a robbery, but Amia - a Jewish cultural centre - said the comments made by his attackers were "a cause for alarm".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack in a statement, adding that "anti-Semitism must not be allowed to to rear its head".

The country is home to more than 400,000 Jews, one of the world's largest Jewish populations outside Israel.

Gabriel Davidovich has been Argentina's chief rabbi at Amia since 2013.

Interesting photography project. I like the "before" better.

In Trump County
In the days before the 2016 US presidential election, voters across the country shared their enthusiasm by placing signs in their front yards with the names of their choice candidate. Observing the many Trump signs as I travelled across upstate New York before the 2016 US election I decided to visit the homes and workplaces of Trump supporters to better understand their perspective. One year later, I returned to the same locations and asked Trump voters to grade the progress of their elected president.

A former chair of the US central bank has sharply criticised President Trump's economic knowledge.

On American Public Media's Marketplace programme, Janet Yellen said Mr Trump did not understand economic policy or the US Federal Reserve's purpose.

She also said that Mr Trump's focus on the US-China trade deficit was misguided.

Asked on Marketplace, the BBC's US radio partner, if she thought the president had a grasp of macroeconomic policy, she replied: "No, I do not."

She went on to say Mr Trump did not seem to understand the Fed's two responsibilities of controlling inflation and supporting employment.

"Well, I doubt that he would even be able to say that the Fed's goals are maximum employment and price stability, which is the goals that Congress have assigned to the Fed," Ms Yellen told the programme.

On the trade gap with China, she said: "When I continually hear focus by the president and some of his advisers on remedying bilateral trade deficits with other trade partners, I think almost any economist would tell you that there's no real meaning to bilateral trade deficits, and it's not an appropriate objective of policy."

The president was involved in a public spat with his own trade adviser during a media conference on the US-China talks late last week.

Mr Trump professed himself not "a fan" of the standard Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) that are used when drawing up trade deals.

Six MOUs have been drawn up between the US and China as part of their moves towards a new trade deal.

But Mr Trump said: "I don't like MOUs because they don't mean anything. To me they don't mean anything. I think you're better off just going into a document. I was never... a fan of an MOU."

His trade representative, Robert Lighthizer, contradicted him, saying: "An MOU is a contract. It's the way trade agreements are generally used... A Memorandum of Understanding is a binding agreement between two people.

"It's a legal term, it's a contract."

The purpose of the federal reserve is simple enough and DT understands it perfectly well. That purpose is to grossly enrich the member banks at the expense of the rest of mankind.
