More racist statements by Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger

Read quotes from the founder of Planned Parenthood pointing out their true agenda. Elimination of minority races.

"Birth control: to create a race of thoroughbreds."
-Margaret Sanger, Birth Control Review, November 1921, (vol. V, no. 11); p.2.

"More children from the fit, less from the unfit-that is the chief aim of birth control."
-Margaret Sanger, Birth Control Review, May 1919 (vol. III, no. 5); p.12.

"The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."
- Margaret Sanger, letter to Clarence Gamble, Dec. 10,1939. - Sanger manuscripts, Sophia Smith Collection, Smith College. (Dec. 10 is the correct date of the letter. There is a different date circulated, e.g. Oct. 19, 1939; but Dec. 10 is the correct date of Ms Sanger's letter to Mr. Gamble.)

"Before eugenists and others who are laboring for racial betterment can succeed, they must first clear the way for Birth Control. Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit.
Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods."
-Margaret Sanger, "Birth Control and Racial Betterment." Birth Control Review, February 1919, (vol. III, no. 2); p. 11.

"Those least fit to carry on the race are increasing most rapidly. … Funds that should be used to raise the standard of our civilization are diverted to maintenance of those who should never have been born."
-Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, p.279.

"Today, however, civilization has brought sympathy, pity, tenderness …. We are now in a state where our charities, our compensation acts, our pensions, hospitals, and even our drainage and sanitary equipment all tend to keep alive the sickly and the weak, who are allowed to propagate and in turn produce a race of degenerates."
-Margaret Sanger, "Birth Control and Women's Health." Birth Control Review, December 1917, (vol. I, no. 12); p. 7.

"It now remains for the United States government to set a sensible example to the world by offering a bonus or a yearly pension to all obviously unfit parents who allow themselves to be sterilized by harmless and scientific means."
-Margaret Sanger, "The Function of Sterilization." Birth Control Review,
October 1926, (vol. X, no. 10); p. 299.

"I visited hospitals in this city, and found them lacking in the simple and most ordinary article of decency. No soap, no cod-liver oil …. This has given rise to skin trouble, and the poor little waifs are a sad, miserable lot. It would be a great kindness to let them die outright, I believe."
-Margaret Sanger. "Women in Germany." Birth Control Review, January 1921, (vol. V, no. 1); p. 9.

"Knowledge of birth control is essentially moral. Its general, though prudent, practice must lead to a higher individuality and ultimately to a cleaner race..."
-Margaret Sanger, "Morality and Birth Control." Birth Control Review,
February-March 1918, (vol. II, nos. 2 and 3); p. 14.

Is it any different than you saying Mueller has done anything useful?

Yes, it is. For one thing it's contemporary. And for another, it's in thread dedicated to Trump.

I see, her speaking to the KKK was not racist.

For christ's sake, speaking to the KKK isn't "racist". Anyway it was addressed in the post:

And the argument against abortion is not with the embattled governor of NC endorsing infanticide. And the NY governor celebrating it? It sure is.

It appears to me that you are here trying very hard to advance a very weak argument.

No. I'm trying to debunk a common misconception. And I'm not "trying very hard"; I don't have to. The historical record is there for all to see and the arguments in the Politifact piece are cogent.

Again this is a case where right-wingers, who have long been associated with the darkest varieties and interpretations of eugenics are now trying to smear an early advocate of prenatal care and reproductive rights.

Look at the sources used to shore up these specious claims:
Quote:
Army of God (AOG) is a Christian terrorist organization that has engaged in the use of anti-abortion violence in the United States to fight against abortion. According to the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security's joint Terrorism Knowledge Base, the Army of God is an underground terrorist organization active in the United States formed in 1982.

Right Wing News:
Quote:
In review, every headline and article on Right Wing News utilizes very strong loaded emotional language such as: Excellent: Trump Looking To Build More Jails For Illegals. All articles favor the right in story selection and denigrate the left. In particular this source likes to expose crimes and/or negative stories that relate to people of color or Islam. Further, many articles use sources that are rated as Questionable or on the extreme end of right wing. They also have a Mostly False Claim by an IFCN fact checker.

Overall, we rate Right Wing News as a Questionable source based on extreme right wing bias, poor sourcing and promotion of propaganda. (10/19/2016) Updated (D. Van Zandt 09/01/2018)

In his 1992 book American Extremists: Militias, Supremacists, Klansmen, Communists & Others, author John George writes that this quote was “evidently concocted in the late 1980s for the purpose of trying to make the early birth control advocate seem a racist and anti-Semite” and that “this fabrication has been kept in circulation by antiabortion and anti-birth control groups.”

This is the original statement by Sanger:
Quote:
I was merely thinking of the poor mothers of congested districts of the East Side who had so poignantly begged me for relief, in order that the children they had already brought into the world might have a chance to grow into strong and stalwart Americans. It was almost impossible to believe that the dissemination of knowledge easily available to the intelligent and thoughtful parents of the well-to-do classes was actually a criminal act, proscribed not only by State laws but by Federal as well.

My paper was suppressed. I was arrested and indicted by the Federal authorities. But owing to the vigorous protests of the public and an appeal sent by a number of distinguished English writers and thinkers, the case against me was finally abandoned. Meanwhile “Birth Control” became the slogan of the idea and not only spread through the American press from coast to coast, but immediately gained currency in Great Britain. Succinctly and with telling brevity and precision “Birth Control” summed up our whole philosophy. Birth Control is not contraception indiscriminately and thoughtlessly practiced. It means the release and cultivation of the better racial elements in our society, and the gradual suppression, elimination and eventual extirpation of defective stocks — those human weeds which threaten the blooming of the finest flowers of American civilization.

No mention of race or ethnicity. Remember that pediatric medicine was nowhere as advanced back then as it is today. Many birth defects which would kill a baby back then can be treated today, and if not treatable, the parents have many more options for providing the child with the best life possible.

A suicide attack in south-eastern Iran has killed at least 27 members of the Revolutionary Guards, state media say.

The bomber targeted a bus transporting personnel in Sistan-Baluchestan province near the border with Pakistan.

The Sunni Muslim militant group, Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice), has said it was behind the bombing.

The Revolutionary Guards, set up shortly after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, are a major military, political and economic force in Iran.

The Revolutionary Guards branch in south-eastern Iran said a unit of its ground forces had been returning from the Pakistan border area on Wednesday when a car filled with explosives blew up beside their bus on the Khash-Zahedan road.

In a statement, it blamed "takfiri terrorists and mercenaries of the intelligence services of hegemonic powers". "Takfiri" is a term used to describe Sunni extremists who see other Muslims as non-believers.

It did not identify the "hegemonic powers", but Iran's foreign minister linked the bombing to a US-led conference on the Middle East taking place in Warsaw, Poland, that will include discussions about Iran's activities in the region.

You contradict the obvious words in the Sanger piece you posted. What pray tell are the "better racial elements in our society" ? , and what are the "defective stocks" and the "human weeds which threaten... the finest flowers of American civilization." ? Her interest in prejudging the suitability of some people for reproduction is starkly evident.

It could be a comprehension problem, or he needs to believe this woman was not a monster, and that her plans to kill Negros can't be true, even if they were. PP facilities are in minority neighborhoods for a reason.

@georgeob1,
Re Margaret Sanger
I trust we can all acknowledge that Sanger's position/thoughts on eugenics is of no relevance whatsoever in right wing criticism of her. If this was a serious issue for right wing Americans, they would have similar campaigns against Teddy Roosevelt and Winston Churchill (along with many others). It is all about abortion.

The eugenics point is a classic example of an ad hominem where a logically irrelevant fact is utilized to discredit a speaker's position. "He's gay therefore bound to be grossly irresponsible. Don't believe a word he says".

Dismay. No other word better describes my present state at learning Paul Manafort has been lying.
Quote:
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said in order Wednesday that Paul Manafort had violated his plea agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller.

Her order also said the Mueller had shown by a preponderance of evidence that Manafort had lied about three of the five topic areas prosecutors accused the former Trump campaign chairman of making intentionally false statements. In the other two topic areas, Mueller has failed to sufficiently prove that Manafort lied.

Sorry, though Roosevelt and Churchill were great men they were also racists and they knew full well who Sanger was talking about. The brown people, you claim to love, were the intended, of what can only be called, victims.

Your apology is as hollow as your soul.
