As Capitol Hill reels from Donald Trump’s surprise firing of attorney general Jeff Sessions, a handful of Republican senators are warning the president not to get any ideas about shutting down the Mueller investigation.

“The one thing this does make certain is that the Mueller investigation into Russian meddling in elections will continue to its end, as it should, because no new Attorney General can be confirmed who will stop that investigation,” said Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) in a statement

Senator Susan Collins, the Maine Republican who cast a deciding vote to place Trump’s pick on the Supreme Court last month, also expressed concern over deputy AG Rod Rosenstein’s removal from his role overseeing the Mueller probe.

Attorney General Sessions is a leader of integrity who served our country well.

Sen. Susan Collins

@SenatorCollins
It is imperative that the Administration not impede the Mueller investigation. I’m concerned Rod Rosenstein will no longer be overseeing the probe. Special Counsel Mueller must be allowed to complete his work without interference—regardless of who is AG.

Senator-elect Mitt Romney also weighed in on the importance of the Mueller investigation.

Mitt Romney

@MittRomney
I want to thank Jeff Sessions for his service to our country as Attorney General. Under Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, it is imperative that the important work of the Justice Department continues, and that the Mueller investigation proceeds to its conclusion unimpeded.

A third Republican senator, Jerry Moran of Kansas, has fired a warning shot about interference with the Mueller investigation, though in guarded terms.

Senator Jerry Moran

@JerryMoran
I expect that during this transition period, the DOJ will make certain federal law enforcement agencies continue to protect our country, carry out the rule of law and allow the Special Counsel investigation to continue unimpeded.

Senator Jerry Moran

@JerryMoran
Jeff Sessions served our country honorably and fulfilled the duties that were statutorily required of him. It was an honor to host AG Sessions recently in Kansas, and I'm appreciative of his efforts to ensure that Kansas has the resources it needs to keep our communities safe.

You are with the fascists that oppose Trump. They ignore the law, use violence and want censorship. The Left is all about hate and control(power).

His knowledge of Constitutional law is abysmal. He cant get a pass for being an ignoramus and just say hes "got lawyers to take care of that" They better start telling him that hs placing himself ABOVE the law.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada brothel owner and reality TV star Dennis Hof died last month but still won a heavily GOP state legislative district after fashioning himself as a Donald Trump-style Republican candidate.

County officials will appoint a Republican to take Hof’s place in the state Assembly. He was found dead Oct. 16 after a weekend of parties celebrating his 72nd birthday. Officials are still determining his cause of death, but they don’t suspect foul play.

He beat Democratic educator Lesia Romanov for Nevada’s 36th Assembly District, which includes rural communities and large stretches of desert in the southern part of the state.

Quote:
Porn actor Ron Jeremy and a prostitute discovered Hof dead at Hof’s Love Ranch brothel about an hour outside Las Vegas. He had spent the four previous days partying with notables from the sex industry and political world. The brothel is where NBA player Lamar Odom was found unconscious in 2015.

About 20 brothels operate in Nevada, mostly in rural areas. They are banned in the counties that contain Las Vegas and Reno. The state doesn’t publicize how many are open, and most owners keep a much lower profile than Hof did.

Hof ran for office in 2016 as a Libertarian but lost the race. This year, he ran as a Republican and earned backing from Trump associate Roger Stone and tax-cut activist Grover Norquist.

He upended Nevada politics this summer when he ousted an incumbent Republican lawmaker in a primary, celebrating at an election night party with “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss.

I actually dont hate anyone except terroroists and criminals. Trump is more to be pitied. Hes an ego unbounded. His lies are wide open as if he cares not who hears him.
I feel its more of a pathology, with some really short term memory problems, if he really believes all his spouts and tweets.

Those words are from a poem that is not about the statue. And she welcomes legal immigrants.

They are, so that means we should invite criminals in?

Nice to see you got race involved. You would have lost points if you didn't.

Tell me are all these brown people you are enabling to become dependent on government incapable of taking care of themselves? You don't seem to think too highly of those people either, do you?

That post is straight forward, your skills are lacking. And an answer like that means you can't answer my questions, so you deflect to my sanity. That does not work here.

The White House said Wednesday night that it's suspending the press pass of CNN's Jim Acosta "until further notice."

The move came just hours after Acosta, CNN's chief White House correspondent, drew the ire of President Donald Trump and his allies by asking multiple questions at a post-midterms news conference. Trump insulted Acosta and called him a "terrible" person.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced in a statement that Acosta would be stripped of what's known as a "hard pass," which gives him access to the White House grounds.

Cable News Network (CNN) is an American news-based pay television channel owned by Turner Broadcasting System, a division of AT&T's WarnerMedia. CNN was founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner as a 24-hour cable news channel. Upon its launch, CNN was the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage, and was the first all-news television channel in the United States.

I'm well aware of the Church Commission. CNN wasn't even in existence then.
