Ah, my old home area before I left California -

http://www.northcoastjournal.com/NewsBlog/archives/2017/01/21/largest-march-in-eureka-history (it's a fairly small town, population about 27,000). It's been ten years, but I likely know some of those folks walking the streets.

I stopped looking at this in order to post it, have to hurry back. I laughed out loud at the fourth one..

http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2017/01/21/the_best_protest_signs_from_the_women_s_march_on_washington.html
adds, the guy with the pink hat, number 9, that was good.

I'll stop posting my likes, the ones after number 9 getting into serious, not that the early ones weren't. Some are seriouser.

@ossobucotemp,
actually, it didn't look quite like that when I moved. On the photo, where is the bookstore? where is Ramones, a much loved place to read the paper or books (they had a place to put books for taking on the way to restrooms.) I figure there was a lot of stuff going on from when I left and that ph0t0.

@dlowan,

This is laying important groundwork for the months ahead. If Trump's White House is willing to lie about something as obviously, unquestionably fake as this, just imagine what else they'll lie about. In particular, things that the public cannot possibly verify the truth of. It's gonna get real bad."

Hi dlowan!
Your friend has it exactly right. But I'll add one more aspect somewhat related to that first point. They will be hoping that this constant lying along with the bullying nature of how the lies are presented, will "train' media people to be more hesitant in confronting Trump and spokespersons. And they'll be counting on the media to follow its normal behaviors of covering he said/versus she said without attention to the actual facts.

What is this Conway woman? I heard her attempting to shout down and threaten an ABC reporter asking why the first press release from the White House was a lie. The caption said she was trump's "counsellor"
Does anyone know what that means?

They brought her on as campaign manager in summer. She's effective at avoidance, distraction, bullying and tossing out tons of bullshit so they've kept her on and given her that meaningless title. Personal history here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kellyanne_Conway

@ossobucotemp,
Actually, places like Ramone's, of my times, were important for letting people wake up and read up and coffee or tea up, good pastry. Usually, a place of rest, the not rest being mild arguments.

These kind of places were good, to me.

That's the common term here too for PR types. But she's a version of thing completely without scruples. She's a propagandist. Thus Goebbels.

Yeah, this whole regime aint nuthin but Nazis, ya done told us.

But you're worrying about the wrong Nazi minister here, doncha think?

Goebbels mainly just made films and dealt in abstract symbolism. He didn't kill nobody.

You should be worrying about Himmler (Bannon) who, right now, probably has gestapo thugs en route to your crib. The plans they have for your ass aint nuthin nice, I can guarantee ya that.

Trump, paraphrasing Goring, was recently heard to say "When I hear the word "commie," I slap some buckshot in my sawed-off." Your time aint long.

When they later try to hang me as a complicit war criminal, I will have the perfect defense.

I'll just say: "I didn't know. How could I know? Blathy, the source of all knowledge and accurate information, wasn't around to tell me the complete truth. He just up and disappeared, somehow."

Meaningless title my ass.
How woefully ignorant you both are. She's his Senior Counselor...Or for those of you in Rio Linda; she's a LAWYER

As counselor to the president, she will work with White House senior leadership on messaging and to help execute the administration's legislative priorities.

In her position, Conway will continue her role as close adviser to the President and will work with senior leadership to effectively message and execute the Administration's legislative priorities and actions.

Only that it isn't just the media that can be intimidated. Yeah, congress may be willing and able to stand up to the guy, but only if they've got a rock solid foundation. If they don't have that kind of basis, they will be accused of crying wolf too often to be credible.

I must make a public apology to georgeob1 for personally insulting him on two separate occasions. If I could, I would delete my posts. My comments were rude and childish.

I also owe layman an apology. There are two ways to reply in opposition to another’s member's post: the right way and the wrong way. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong way. I had a legitimate objection to make, but I lost my temper and played the hypocrite. My reply to him was demeaning and extremely harsh. Again, I’d delete my post if I could.

I am ashamed of myself for submitting these posts. Believe it or not, I actually don’t behave this way in real life.

In light of what has happened, I will not be posting again for a while.
