If you don't mind, I'm skipping your '10 word or less' witticisms until sometime late tomorrow...if then. I know you make an effort to be creative but all you do is offer semi-snide remarks....It's fine by me, you are probably a big hit with some members....

I do see how an unbalanced person could be motivated by the calls for incivility.

Everyone can see how it happened: the relentless seam of raw hatred peddled by the US right since decades, by many many sources including the tea baggers, FAUX News, Alex Jones, Trump, and their little social minnions such as yourself, is leading some people to action.

We can't whip up that ****-for-the-mind forever and not hit the fan.

Good luck for the rest of the journey through hell. I hope you find the exit.

@glitterbag,
In honor of this, I agree to never respond to messages less than 11 words. That is a GREAT point.

It really saves a lot of time, and you won't furrow your brow thinking 'what the hell is this $%&#'

President Donald Trump has called on the media "to stop the endless hostility", after suspected explosives were posted to high-profile US figures.

He was speaking after parcels were sent to CNN and top Democrats, including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

None of the packages exploded. The FBI has launched a hunt for their sender.

The president's critics called his comments hypocritical, as he often uses vicious language against his opponents and the press.

In scripted remarks at a Wednesday night rally in Wisconsin, the president vowed to catch the perpetrator, while calling on the media to end "constant negative and oftentimes false attacks and stories".

Mr Trump also called for more civility in public life, saying: "Those engaged in the political arena must stop treating political opponents as being morally defective.

"No one should carelessly compare political opponents to historic villains, which is done often."

However, the president made no specific reference to the intended recipients of the packages.

Earlier CNN worldwide president Jeff Zucker criticised President Trump and the White House press secretary for not understanding that "words matter".

"There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media," he said.

@izzythepush,
I thunk it's more likely that he doesn't care, he enjoys the chaos and can't get along without it. I think it's possible that the staff understands what a dire situation we are in, but he doesn't listen to them. He's so defiant as soon as someone advises him got tread softly, he starts stomping, The magic words are always "what ever you do, don't say (pick anything) in that meeting.

He is a graceless, inarticulate con man and he doesn't pay his bills and he doesn't pay taxes.

@glitterbag,
I think that, like with Saudi Arabia, he's looking for someone else to blame, anything rather than identifying the real culprit.

Whenever Republicans are in charge, leftists are often eager to see America suffer disaster. That's why so many leftists cheered when the World Trade Center collapsed.

Right. I think almost every person in Western society considered it a tragedy. What is it about you that you claim people on the left side of the political spectrum would put their ideology before their compassion?

For that matter, what was there to cheer about? That it happened when Bush was president? What? Did you think people on the left believed that he would be held accountable for what happened? Did they think that the support for the president would be less after 9/11? It was clear that, if anything, that attack served to unite people, rather than divide them. And it made Bush, if anything, more revered than refiled.

Oh, come on. That can't be true. He always claims he is the greatest and the best at everything. Also: how many people do you know can invent new words on the spot? covfefe indeed.

There's a part of me that thinks he likes Kim Jung Un so much because he is revered as a sort of demi-God in North Korea: I reckon Trump feels he should get similar honors.

More violence from the right:

Four Local Members of White Supremacy Group Face Federal Charges in Attacks at Political Rallies across California

It's not hard to find this stuff. Right-wingers on this thread have been parroting the current conservative talking point that that Trump's opposition is the main source of political violence.

I was hoping for a little more, I don't know, insightfulness (?) from Trump. That was blown in a hurry. On the other hand, we as a country need to find the line between criticism and incitement words. I have been guilty a lot of times of labelling the other side with words such as "gun nuts" and the like. Merely criticizing the president is not incitement, but perhaps if we started labelling him a traitor or some other such word, that would be incitement. The WH and Sanders have blamed the media for negative reporting as though that is the blame for the state of our politics. They see his "successes" as something that shields him from honest criticism or negative reporting when the subject being reported is negative. They see the reports of the Russia investigation as negative and the cause of our current political situation and all the other such reporting. As though the victims of the bomb targets are the blame for getting bombs in the mail because they dare to be a critic of Donald Trump. Donald Trump has inciting anger since he started his rallies, he should look in the mirror. If, Lord forbids, something similar happens to Donald Trump, is it going to be his fault for inciting the anger of the left wing of the country? Is it going to be the left wing's fault? The problem is the anger and hate, not words of criticism.

@oralloy,
Whenever is responsible for the investigation should be commended for what we already know they’ve done. They’ve recovered tens of millions of dollars of tax evasion and have indicted or secured guilty pleas of some 20-30 criminals.

Justice is being served. All Americans should be applauding their work.

So Trump has now cited three causes for what happened Wednesday: people who villainize their political opponents, people who cast their opponents as “morally defective” and resentment of the media. All three effectively implicate Trump himself.
