@Blickers,
Indeed. But up the road, if he is not confirmed, he's going to have a continued life of wealth, prestige and continuing political activism within the right wing welfare universe.

@blatham,
Kavanaugh really does sound like he's going completely flaky with Leahy. Kavanaugh's been flirting with it from the start but he's driving off the edge now. I'm not sure even conservatives are going to be comfortable with a guy like him making legal decisions that will endure for centuries.

@Blickers,
Now we are in agreement. Regardless of what did or did not happen in his personal life, there is always going to be some level of discomfort.

"Calculated and organized political hit... pent-up anger against Trump... revenge on behalf of Clintons... millions from left-wing opposition groups." Could this man ever be an impartial and unbiased member of the Supreme Court?

Just calling balls and strikes.

Most modern conservatives, and certainly any in GOP or movement leadership. are completely delighted with this prospect. We ought not to minimize or fool ourselves regarding how deeply corrupt these people have become.

Devil's Triangle (disambiguation) Wikipedia article edited anonymously from US House of Representatives https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=861497321&oldid=839322382

So, a House IP address just used to edit entry "Devil's Triangle" to include Kavanaugh's claim it is a drinking game.

@blatham,
Well after listening all day long to commentaries, glad I don't do this often, stick to internet news, I think people are watching the pro-choice moderates who are on the committee. In the end, I think he will be confirmed, though it is a sick thing.

I still kind of believe Kavanaugh had a few drinks or something, I mean he didn't seem like a scholarly Judge to me at all. But he might be confirmed, the republicans can convince themselves of anything.

Just to prove I am not just being partisan, I am not sure I buy accusation number three just because of her lawyer. But I know I do Ford's and that anonymous last one.

Where are coldjoint and all the Trump the defenders posting about what a "great performance" Kavanaugh put on?

They must be waiting for their talking points from Russia to come through. It's still early Friday morning over there, and they're waiting for the first shift to show up at the troll factory.

@gungasnake,
I also got wind that the recent ouster of Australia's elected Prime minister, and his immediate departure from our shores to go to the US of A, is much more than just a leadership "spill".

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/27/trump-rosenstein-meeting-848757

Quote:
President Donald Trump and Rod Rosenstein have postponed until next week Thursday’s highly anticipated meeting to hash out the fate of the embattled deputy attorney general.

In a statement, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the two didn't want to distract from the Senate's monumental hearing Thursday morning examining sexual assault allegations made against Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

“They do not want to do anything to interfere with the hearing,” Sanders told reporters.

Quote:
Speaking to reporters Wednesday in New York, Trump said he was leaning against ousting the longtime federal prosecutor.

“I would certainly prefer not doing that," he said of firing Rosenstein.
