The irony of "drain the swamp." Most of our voters are just so stupid, we seem to fall for any hype that gets us excited.

Case in point:

But there’s no evidence that Kavanaugh’s accusers, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, coordinated with each other in any way. Kavanaugh doesn’t provide any basis for the outlandish claim in the letter.

On behalf of Kentucky, I apologize for Mitch McConnell being allowed to remain in the Senate for so long. I don't think there is any way he will not remain unless he dies or there is some kind of term limits passed.

As we'd expect (and as is now evident) he's coordinating with a cabal of the most senior GOP legal activists and organizations, all long term associates of Kavanaugh. The Federalist Society has been working towards a SC of this configuration (if he gets through) for decades. But entities like Fox will NEVER breathe a hint of how this privileged and powerful elite is a precisely what "swamp" can, rationally, mean. Again, the base buys this story that the real victim is not the women but Kavanaugh and his prep school buddies.

They are also not supposed or be expected to prove a negative. Since when did our justice expect any such thing? It has not and should not. Anything unusual Kavanaugh has done is not by choice. They have smeared someone who turns out to be what he says he is, pretty much of choir boy. FAIL.

It is difficult to comprehend how the GOP memory hole has become such an expansive phenomenon that, ALREADY, Merrick Garland (and McConnell's actions) are totally disappeared. Orwell was absolutely correct in describing how easily humans can be propagandized. Given the availability of information in modern western society (as contrasted with society when he wrote) Orwell might even have underestimated human weakness in this matter.

Hard to believe Kavanaugh is still up for nomination in the midst of all this. The Republicans must totally disregard the potential for women to vote for their own interests for the GOP to even consider keeping Kavanaugh's nomination alive.

He is not just making denials now, but he alleges a conspiracy amongst his accusers. It is like saying in court, "I am not guilty, what's more, the prosecuting witnesses have conspired with each other to make accusations against me." In court, that would be his/her defense, but that defense would have to have background and a basis for the accusation. They couldn't just throw it out there for the jury to chew on.
